I'm probably not the only one currently watching the Skypia (sp?) arc of One Piece so I decided to make a thread.

So far it's been very entertaining and intriging. Interesting religious stuff as well but it's uncommonly light in that respect and doesn't get to bogged down with religion just the concept of there being a God which watches over this land who judges anyone who enters Skypia.

The white berets were an interesting bunch. Crawling like that... uh... okay.

Random funny moment in the latest episode I watched... Zoro doing his best impression of Tarzan. Never thought I'd see that... but dang it was hillarious. Then he tells Nami that she should have done it as well. I haven't laughed that hard at a cartoon in a while.

That bit reminded me of the part from Little Garden where Zoro insists everyone should strike a statue pose while they still can. You don't often get quirky humour from him.

I'm really wondering how 4Kids is gonna handle all the god references in this arc, or if they're just gonna take a "he-who-must-not-be-named" route.

Is it trial of balls or trial of orbs? Trial of balls just sounds...:p

The pacing is good too. Alabasta had its desert filler episodes, and the current water 7 arc seems to be desperately scrambling for more time by stretching things out.

Probably Trial of Orbs....

The other 3 are....

Trial of String
Trial of Steel
and
Trial of Swamp

Hope you guys can enjoy Skypiea, its one of those love or hate arcs.
I love it though...

I hope you guys don't mind this, but I just started reading The Skypiea Arc in the manga last week. But my question is it okay I talk about the manga verison as I read it? Because so far the story arc have been very intersing.

Actually it was translated Trial of the Balls. Which I got a laugh out of as well.

I guess you can talk about the manga version but try not to spoil anything.

Heres a little teaser...

God's character design came from a certain white rapper .

Now that you mention it I can sort of see a resembolence. Though, that look isn't all that unquie. I can picture him rapping now.

I really enjoyed the Skypia arc even with it's flaws one being the major villain taking too long to defeat another being numorous characters surviving insane situations that should have killed them

That's something we have to expect from most shounen mangas. When we know it won't be as bothersome.

I also liked Skypeia. It's not as good as Alabasta or the current Water 7 arc but it's enjoyable. It weirds me out that I never noticed the main villain's droopy ears until AFTER I finished reading the arc.

I think the part I enjoyed most about Skypiea was not the place or the characters, but the tools and devices introduced, namely the dials.

They made Usopp completely awesome.

Enreu does look like little bit like Enemiem in a way. I must admit it. Right now, I just finished Chapter 259 which begin Luffy fight against Waipu. I'm in shock what Enreu did to both Sanji, and Usopp by defeating them in one Shot.

But so far this storyline is pretty intersing, but it's taking a slower pace then Alabasta. But aleast it keeping a good pace, so I can understand what the heck is going on.

I thought the dials were surprisingly well thought-out and executed, the idea being that they can absorb energy, sound, wind, etc and play it back.

I do hope Usopp doesn't come to depend too much on it though, cuse it basically makes him the equivalent of a devil fruit user and takes away from the inspired comebacks he's accomplished.

For some weird reason...

I sympathize all those lizards Zoro beat up. Guess I have a thing for reptiles...

Somehow someway it will be dubed with much left out details. No I am not giving them hope ...please...

Count as one who loved reading Skypia. The only problem I had with Skypia was Satori and his brothers. I found him to be incredibility annoying. I was disappointed that Strawhats didn’t give him a bigger beating than they did. But, one character that had me laughing was Gadus, he looks so serious yet a big goof ball.

My absolute favorite Skypian moment was
Luffy’s final blow against Enreu while ringing the bell at same moment. It was a very touching moment seeing the giant Luffy shadow while the bell was ringing.
