Okay, I'm curios as to what some good graphic novels would be, in the Japanese animation style. If you can help me I'd be thankful. (Keep in mind I'm 15, or soon I will be so I don't want to read something not in my age) :anime:.

Hoping this isn't much trouble,

So no Berserk, Battle Royale, or Akira huh?

Well thats 3 of my faves.....

Try One Piece!
Or Naausica of the valley of Wind! Naausica gets very violent ......but its a series where thats beside the point. Its a masterpiece.
And as far as adventure tales go so is OP.

Azumanga Daioh would be a good fit. It's only four volumes, so it's not too expensive. It's like an anime style Peanuts. Very cute & funny.

Kare Kano is a very good high school romance manga.

Fruits Basket is cute, but I have only read one volume.

Full Metal Panic is really fun, but there is some risque content.

If you don't mind some violence, Rurouni Kenshin is good also.

I would suggest trying your local library first.

Three Licenced in the USA Faves:
1. Confidential Confessions by Reiko Momochi
2. Clover by CLAMP
3. Fruits Basket by Natsuki Takuya

Two Unlicenced Faves:
1. Welcome to the NHK (NHK Ni Youkoso) by Kendi Oiwa and Tatsuhiko Takimoto
2. Record of a Yokohama Shopping Trip (Yokokama Kaidashi Kikou) by Ashinano Hitoshi

I should warn you in the case of both Confidential Confessions and Welcome to the NHK that both are pretty dark in the their respective stories and content. However, that doesn't mean they aren't worth reading. Just be warned that they are downers.

I'm new to this forum. And I was asking for something in my age group.

STuff You Must Read;

Red Prowling Devil(awsome jet fighter manga)

Iron Wok Jan(Iron Chef on Steroids and it's as if it is embodies by the grace of the Allrighty Kaga himself)

Suikoden III(this is a reiteration of the game's story with some background and short stories added, but the game's story is top quality kick ass)

Yotsuba&!(From the creator of Azumanga Daioh....also Yotsuba has ADD, it's true)

Cromartie Highschool(buy and be absrobed into the awsomeness)

Evangelion(Manga is better than anime)

Full Metal Panic and Full Metal Panic:Overload(get both even though they are from different continuities)

SGT.Frog(one of the best comedies out there, this is one series that I go out of my way to aquire before the street date)

and probably the last one I'd recomend would be Junk Force(wait it could be considered somthing more along the lines of what Knux and Go-Chin would like)

Akira
Blade of the Immortal
Lone Wolf and Cub
Hellsing (vastly different from the anime... it's presented as a comedy of all things)
Nausicaa
Adolf

If you like sci-fi, then Ghost in the Shell (the original one-volume compilation) or Battle Angel Alita are both good suggestions. I'm on the lookout for another good cyberpunk story.

The Slayers: Great fantasy comedy. It's the only series I make sure to buy all the DVDs and graphic novels for. There's different parts of the series you can buy, and I highly recommend reading the original novels.

.hack//: If you liked this show on Cartoon Network, there's no reason not to love the graphic novels. In fact, the .hack//LEGEND one in manga form has a much better ending than the one you see on TV.

Both series do have the occasional "hot spring" nudity but it's covered up if you're worried.

Heck, I'll third it too. Everyone go read this. Now. How this flew under the radar is beyond me.

Seconded.

While it may be a Shojo manga, I throughly recomend "Kodocha", it's great, the chracters are fantastic and the story-arcs are well presentated.

If you are familiar with the plot of Digimon 02 (As in, saw it) then I recommend the two volume manga: Sub par by itself, but hilarious as a retelling of the series.

Maison Ikkoku and Akira are two of my favorites. You might not like MI if want lots of action, though. I'd say for your age group, Hunter X Hunter and Rurouni Kenshin.
