Anyone run into those giant barking standee displays they have in stores?

Apparently those things have motion sensors in them and bark when any movement is detected. I mean every single Gamestop and EB that I go in to check to see what rareities and oddities I can aquire has had the same barking display. Thing absolitely drives me nuts for the 10 or so minutes i'm there because it goes off constantly. I mean I have a real dog, but he only barks when he wants somthing, unlike the display which barks at even the slightest of movement...

I dunno though, I played the Nintendogs demo, seems a bit lacking when compared to experiance of owning alot of dogs throughout the years....I mean they don't even have the most entertaining activity of all, have a puppy play with an R/C car...

that and they apparently sanitized the poo/urinate feature in the game...I mean they easily could have had the second DS screen be some sort of Erase game whena puppy stains the carpet...

If anything it seems quite lacking when compared to other creature Raising Sims...

For example one of the best of the genre is called Creatures, it was a series of games where you would raise three classes of creatures, you could have almost infinate ammoutn on screen(if your system allowed), you could breed the three species together, and they would interact with the enviroment and the provided applets...

it also had awsome 2D backgrounds and music, I found that Creatures 2 was the best of the series, it also had the highest overall ammount of vehicles to ride in(the first game only had two the submarine and the skylift), the one after that Creatures 3 seemed a bit lacking in design and overall challenge

Semi-related to Gigan's rantings:

Whoever said "You can't teach an old dog new tricks" was a damn dirty liar! My dog (16 human years in 2 weeks) has gotten kind of senile in his old age and is constantly begigng for attention. Asking for food he's not supposed to get (or doens't exist some days, he begs at the kitchen, but no food is there to entice him). After a while, I began ignoring him unless he barked to go outside to do his buisness. He became wise to my game and has developed a counter-strategy: He now barks at the door to entice me inot getting up and catering to him, but he doens't go out, he just looks at me and begins his begging process. I DO NOT like the idea of my dog trying to outsmart me, but I'll be damned if a videogame can replicate such real-life inspirations.

If it was a Digimon or somthing like that instead of a dog in the game it would have me interested...then you could also have the whole fight/upgrade aspect. But using an animal that has a real life counterpart...it sorta looses somthing. It's like those AIBO things, those just simulated dog behaviour, they didn't really progress past being a novelty

it seems really cute and interesting, but i have dogs so i'd get bored of it after a while becuse you don't get the same feeling as with a real animal. but props to Ninendo.
