So flhero(and any other Harley fans) what did you think of the latest issue? I thought it was a great improvement over last months Last Laugh tie in. I especially enjoyed the scenes with Jimmy Olsen and Lois. I was very surprised though when the woman hung herself!! That caught me a little off guard. What did everyone else think?

I'll prolly pick it up tomorrow, if not then next week, so I'll voice my opinion then. Glad someone's starting threads for this book...

Oh yes I read it and it was a great improvement over the last laugh, which seemed to drag on for thru too many DC issues.
Anyway I thought it was a good issue, but who was that lady who hung herself? How long will this charade of Harley's last?
I wonder if the girls are going to do some shopping next issue.

Sorry it took me so long to respond, but I FINALLY got this issue. Not too bad an ish, mostly an intro to Metropolis. It'll be cool if we ever see Supes show up. I'd like to see how Terry draws him...

I loved the superman parody of it all. Harley living in Metropolis working as a mild mannared advice collumist for the Daily Planet by day and causing Mayhem as her alter ego by night. She even wears the glasses as her disguise. That was classic. And call me twisted but I love the dark humor involved with the woman who hanged herself. Seeing her in the background as Harley and Ivy casually talked about what to do next was pretty amusing, and then Ivy's solution of what to do with the body... it's sick but this is a book about villains so you just gotta enjoy that they dont have to be as careful about stuff like death (Dont know if any of you ever read Deadpool but protaganist who aren't restrained by morals can be quite hysterical.) The Thorn thing was cool too.

Actually, the woman who hung herself gave me a better outlook on this series. For awhile there, I was worried this might actually lose face as a Batman related publication and get way to silly. Harley's pal (who she shot, forgot his name) had also given some more perspective, but it had been a small while since that issue so it was something more to help prove they're still going to be some black humor.
I never thought of the Harley / Clark Kent paralle, I'll have to read the issue again in that new light. Karl Kesser has more than proven himself to me that he was the best writer for this series.

I just picked up my first issue of Harley .
It was issue 14 ...Harley moving to Metropolis was
a good point for me to jump onto the series and see if
I liked it.
I was totally ready to hate this series.
I just didnt think this character , though ineteresting wouldnt
be strong enough to hold her own series.
I was ready for a lame batman satelite title like Azreal.
I have to admit ... I was pleasantly surprised !
Issue 14 was great.
I should have expected no less from Kessel.
I love that they havent gone down the path of villan makes
good. Weve seen what disaster these type of series become
ie ..venom ..ie green goblin.
The disposing of the body and fighting your local town
vigalante were good indicators of the series tone.
I also love seeing batman & superman supporting casts interacting with each other .
I love the idea of Harley working for the planet.
I hope this is a direction for the series and not just
some 3 issue storyline.
And doesnt Batman own the planet ? interesting.
OK Im hooked ...bring on the next issue.

I think it'll be a 12 issue storyline, like the first one. It may actually be less, I'm not really sure. I know that Kessel was planning a road trip story line, so I don't know if this is part of it or if the road trip will come in a year or so.
The Spirt whisperedAnd doesnt Batman own the planet ? interesting.
Bruce owns part of it. He's like their huge investor. Perry still owns it. Lex sold it to him for $1 right around the relaunch of the S books.

From what I've read, the Metropolis storyline will be like a 6 issue storyline, not a 12, then they will have another storyline to finish out the year. She may wind up back in gotham by issue 25 or 26.
