When Jl was anounnced I almost though they were going to use the "Long Haired" version of Superman or change his Red and Yellow logo to the Red and Black version.
I'm satisfied at the current design even though he looks a tad bit older.
And what about "Energy Superman" from the past JLA issues? How did he ever come along? Well, yeah I think he looks *Kinda* cool in a way, But I figure he's just another marketing sheme right?
I know Energy Superman'll never come about in the animated continuity, and I'm glad about that, But What would it be like if he was animated?

i think i would puke if supes became "energy" again or grew out his hair
as it stands kingdom come superman is my all time fav. look, followed by The Call superman costume from BB and then closely followed by the regular costume with the black background shield they are using now
of course the classic design is great as well
I hate this JL Superman, he just looks awful, he looks like 60 and his new voice

The voice of Superman in JL is downright horrible. He sounds too much like a diplomat than a leader. He's also very weak compared to S:TAS. WB really screwed the Superman character over. What do you think?

I thought Superman's current voice, although young sounding, comes off as making Superman have a corny and sympathetic feel/personality to him. That's why I think he works okay. But don't get me wrong, nothing personal to this current guy but if Tim Daly wants to fly in the window and sign for a few episodes I'll welcome him with open arms. :p

Yeah, Superman looks much to old in the series, and they keep screwing up the S. I like the classic yellow/red S. But I don't really care either way.
I didn't mind the long hair so much, when it was drawn right. Alex Ross even had some difficulties with making it look good.

No long hair. Thank God for that. The only gripe I have with this Superman is the lines that they draw under eyes. Newburn may not be Tim Daly, but to me he's doing a good job. Other than that, I like the way Superman is being portrayed.

Personally, I think that people are being much too critical of the JL Superman. I DO agree that Koko is having problems making his new "more mature" look appear as nice as Bruce Timm's drawings, and I think it is peculiar that an actor w/such a youthful voice was cast in the part of an "older" Superman. However, the fact that Timm's drawings of the character look so good, leads me to believe that the problem is not in the concept, but in the execution of the animation studio.
Something else I would point out is that many of the problems with Superman that people seem to have are not exclusive to JL. Having just watched "Demon Reborn," I noticed that the "S" logo looked just awful in many shots and that kind of thing didn't happen in that episode alone. I also noticed that Superman struggled to stop an out-of-control train. If the same thing were to happen in JL, people would scream about how "weak" Superman is portrayed, but the same thing happened all the time in Superman's own series.
It's cool if some fans are still disappointed about the S-Shield or his power levels on JL, I just wanted to point out that those problems should not be a reflection of JL alone.
