OK, so around December last year, Comcast announced it was changing the basic cable lineup in order to add the Style Channel, PAX, GSN, Hallmark, WGN, & G4 to the lineup. Luckily, the only channels changed were TV Guide Channel and some random channel I never watched anyway.

Currently, my channel lineup has ESPN at channel 9, Comcast Sportsnet at 10, ESPNClassic at 64, ESPN2 at 65, and Golf at channel 63. UPN and PAX are in the 20's, whereas the rest of the network channels are in the teens, Sci Fi is in between TBS and TLC, and for some reason, G4 is sandwiched in between Hallmark Channel and TV Guide.

Now, Comcast is changing the lineup once again, this time getting rid of ShopNBC and Oxygen (the latter of which I couldn't get anyway since my cable box only goes up to 99), and adding WE and ESPNNEWS. However, the changes are even more baffling than before. Golf, ESPNClassic, and ESPN2 are all in the single-digits now, but ABC, Fox, and WB are moving to the 20's while NBC & CBS stay put, WGN is getting placed in the middle of all the Premium Channels, and now Sci Fi is being placed next to Bravo and E! of all things.

WTF do cable operators smoke when they make these channel lineups that are supposed to "group everything into reconizible groups"?
