Oddly enough, he was the one who filed for divorce. Jeeze, they just spent five minutes talking about it on the Today show. They must be hurting for real news!

Is it possible the whole marriage was set up as a publicity stunt? No, never, impossible, unbelievable, never happens etc..

If the guy ain't veg, you're walking the edge.
Drew Barrymore: Hardcore animal-rights activist and devout vegan.
Tom Green: We've all seen what he does with animals, and when did pastrami become a vegetable (he likes pastrami sandwiches)?
Yeah, great match-up...NOT!
Sincerely,

So Tom Green filed??? TOM GREEN FILED????? I would have thought that she realized she is Hollywood royalty and he is a skateboarding punk who got a lucky break! TOM GREEN FILED? Now I know he's crazy.

Drew's too good for Tom anyway.
Y'know, I think maybe Hollywood should have its separate marriage category. You'd have regular marraiges for regular people. And Hollywood marriages for the folks who plan to be married for less than a year or 2. It could even come with a free PR basket!

You may all be sarcastic, but this really is depressing to me...I dont know why,but I thought them getting married was extremely cool...
Of course, with the way they were messing with everyone about the marriage in the first place,it could just be another joke,or the marriage itself was all along :P

She's one heck of flake herself. Doesn't surprise me that either one of 'em couldn't make a marriage last.

I am in total agreement. While Charlie's Angels was a surprisingly decent movie, I haven't liked anything else she did except Playboy and ET.
We're not gonna have any guns in Charlie's Angels, but we're gonna blow stuff up real good. Also, we're gonna do really cruel stuff to some poor schmuck 'cause we think he's a bad guy.
Oh, you mean as a person? Yeah, flake is the word.

I come from the same city as Tom Green, and occasionally there are Tom sightings by myself or my friends. He's known to be a jerk before, and when he got famous, apparently he got even worse. The whole "Don't you know who I am?" bit and all.

Hey that's cool. Too bad about the whole jerk thing though. My appologies. I'm not too big a Tom Green fan, but hey maybe he just wanted to get married to become a citizen of the US so when he did his thing he wouldn't be deported. :P
I dunno. I really have no reason to dislike either of them. I really liked "Never Been Kissed"....

I really think we should all (and by 'all' I refer to the whole ******* world!) ignore this and not give them blatant attention they both have displayed such a ready need for.
They don't deserve it. IMO, 'celebs' should do their stuff on television/film whatever then be left alone like everyone else. The attention is unhealthy for them and it's unheathy and sad for us.
That way egos wouldn't abound, people wouldn't be irritating. People wouldn't worship actors/actress' as gods and we'd all live happily ever after.
Ego always has something to do with it. Is it coincedence that big celebs team up? Is Mr Right just two stage doors down the left? No.
Example. Jennifer Aniston. I recall a few years back seeing her in Quantum Leap. Actually, that's a lie. I don't remember her at all. That's my point. See her in the episode now and she looks average. Nothing to write home about.
Few years later when she is massively popular and been hearlded the most beautiful woman in the USA, Brad Pitt marries her. Somehow I can't see him marrying her when she was a guest star debut in Quantum Leap.
Same goes over in the UK with the Beckhams. Victoria (Posh Spice Girl) and David (Top Footballer - sorry, soccer player) get hitched. Both fawned upon by the opposite sex (god knows why in Victoria's sake).
The drawn out point? Human nature. We take pride and ego in obtaining what others think are unobtainable. Imagine the pride and ego in obtaining someone that not just some of your friends think is cool on telly, but the whole world does. Mess you up big. That is why I think these people don't last - their attraction through ego comes into conflicts with their own personality clashes. Although in the Beckhams case this is yet to happen - possibly because the two practically own pages 2,3,4,5 and 25 of every UK newspapers (See 'What Do You Hate?' thread regarding JOURNALISTS!)
Later!
:D

Proposal
Title: "A Day in the Life of Mr & Mrs Barrymore"
Opening scene: the living room. A Christmas tree blinks futilely in the corner, unable to compete with the garish decor. The camera pans to the Barrymores snuggling by the fire (the tree lights have shorted out in frustration) CUT TO:
A close-up on MR. BARRYMORE: "Drew, this time of year, I think of everything that I have to be thankful for. A career despite a total lack of talent outside of cow-fondling. More MTV appearances than Pauly Shore and Carrottop combined. And... uh... I'm forgetting something..."
Close-up on MRS. BARRYMORE: "Me?"
MR: "Naw, it's something important... Eh, it'll come to me. Oh, by the way, honey, here's your present."
MRS: (ripping the paper off... with her teeth) "Aw, how sweet... What is it?"
MR: "Divorce papers. Merry Christmas!"
MRS: "Crap! That's what I got you!!!"
No, huh? Okay, try this one...
Title: "A Day in the Life of Mr & Mrs Garth Brooks"... :wakko:

Is it just me or did he say he was retiring about six years ago on "The Tonight Show." Actually, whether it's just me or not I know I saw that. Then we would have been spared the whole "Chris Gaines" fiasco. but of course we would have also missed his incredible turn as host of Saturday Night Live.
I live about 10 miles from where he is supposed to live when he's not in Nashville and no one ever sees him around town. I think the whole "from Yukon Oklahoma," is just to give him that down home charm. He did grow up there, but I don't see how he can say he "lives" there.

Brother, Mr. Brooks doesn't really "live." That would signify that he is merely human like the rest of us peons. Oh, no. Mr. Brooks is on Mr. Brooks' own level of existence.
BTW, Garth did file for divorce from his wife of 15 years, and will probably drag their kids through several circles of Hades in the custody fight. Merry Christmas, indeed!

Chris Gaines was an alter ego of Brooks. He was a pop singer and put out an album. It was all supposed to be prep for some movie he was gonna be in. I think that since his album didn't sell well, they never made the movie.
Huh, imagine talking about an alter ego in this forum! ;)

Actually, I never even knew the two were married. Or who Tom Green was. :D But I wonder what'll the headlines be like if a celeberty actually found someone he/she LOVED and then got married...
(thinks)....nah, it'd never make the headlines. Who wants to see junk like that? :D
Also, I wonder if this made the news just to give us a break from the Hunt for Bin Laden. >.<

Given the fact they got married without much attention from the media, I would have to say that this is getting attention because they are just happy to have something new to talk about. Just as long as the 24 news channels don't start analyzing this 24-7!!

You never heard of tom green?!
Most people hate him,but I love that kind of "humor" (if it even fits in to any known definition of humor)...writhing and convulsing all over a sidewalk with two sticks of italian bread and an empty soda can on a string attached to your head with duct tape while gibbering and moaning=funny, dressing like a british gaurd being pulled on a rikshaw and making constipated "UUUUUUUURGGGGGGHHHHHHH" sounds into a megaphone=funny, and eating a "sasquatch" made of petroleum jelly and human hair=REALLY REALLY friggin funny.

Yeah, I thought the Tom Green Show was extremely funny. He was good in Road Trip, but he sucked in Charlie's Angels and Freddie Got Fingered was a mediocre take on his old TV show. I still don't think Freddie Got Fingered was worthy of all the hatred spewed at it, but I still prefer his TV show to the movie.

I liked him, but then he just grew stale. He got old hat really fast becuase he was just a one trick pony. He had potential, but squandered it. Real shame, too. At least his taste is women is pretty good.
