Christmas Futurama on Dec. 23rd!

FOX has released the official rundown of the controversial Futurama episode:

IT'S A CHRISTMAS CUSTOM BENDER WHEN COOLIO JOINS THE CREW ON AN ALL- NEW 'FUTURAMA' DEC. 23 ON FOX - AT A SPECIAL TIME (9:30pm ET)

Bender is declared the new Santa when it is discovered that the evil Santabot has been frozen in a block of ice on Neptune. But when Bender begins delivering toys, the citizens, who are unaware that Santa is now a good guy, stage an all-out assault against him. Just when things can't get any worse, the evil Santa's icy tomb thaws and he escapes to exact his wrath upon the world. Rap star Coolio makes a guest voice appearance as Kwanzabot on the FUTURAMA episode "A Tale of Two Santas" Sunday, Dec. 23 (9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (FUT- 303) (TV-PG; L, V)

Voice Cast: Billy West as Fry, Professor Farnsworth and Dr. Zoidberg; Katey Sagal as Leela; John DiMaggio as Bender, Santabot; Phil LaMarr as Hermes; Lauren Tom as Amy.

Guest Cast: Coolio as Kwanzabot.

The episode will air at 9:30 pm, pre-empting X-FILES for the night.

Why is it considered controversial?

Because, supposedly, it's really, really violent. It was supposed to air last season, but Fox chickened out because of the all the violence. Still, I've heard it's darn funny.

At last, we get to see it! Woo hoo!

I guess there's alot of violence in the episode, and the subject matter is a bit iffy as well. I think the Kwanzabot has something to do with it.

In addition to the violent Santa robot, there's also supposedly scenes where Bender is kicking elves in the nuts. From what I hear it's pretty over the top.

I really can't wait for this episode. From the moment I heard of this I knew I wanted to see this episode. I know this will be a great episode that lives to what little hype is actually behind it. Hopefully this'll help FUTURAMA with ratings, too...

Wasn't this supposed to be last season's Christmas episode? Does this mean we will get TWO Christmas episode this year?

In the future, I'd like to see Futurama do to Christmas specials as what the Simpsons do with their Halloween specials.

Man I haven't posted in a long time......Futurama's version of the Simpsons Halloween specials is there "Anthology of Interest" episodes. The season finale two years ago was the first one, but last year's got pre-empted. They should show the second Anthology of Interest pretty soon....

Its a really funny episode. I remember cracking up every other second when I saw it at San Diego Comic Con. There was definitely a lot of more extreme humor than I am used to on Futurama.
