Cartoon Battle of the Bands!

SCENARIO:
(Open with: a group of teens dancing, with swinging 50's-ish music playing in the background...)

ANNOUNCER: Welcome to another edition of---"American Handstand"! And here's your host, America's oldest teenager, *Rick Mark*!

(Cut to Rick, who's busy packing facial cream on his face; he mutters to someone off-stage "better get this stupid show over with, I'm due on the set of 'The $25,000 Trapezoid' later on...". He suddenly sees he's on, and tosses the cream off-camera)

RICK: (Forced smile) Hello again everyone, and welcome to another edition of "American Handstand"! Today, it's a "battle of the bands" contest, as we've got a group of great cartoon rock groups. The winner receives an all-new megabuck recording contract, lots of guest appearances on "The Simpsons" (off-stage, we hear a Homer Simpson-sounding groan), tons of MTV exposure, radio airplay, enough cash to buy Bolivia---the whole works! So let's meet these has-beens----er, "former musical greats", and see what they've got:

- Alvin and the Chipmunks! (Alvin, Simon and Theodore wave...)

- Jem and the Holograms! (The 80's rockers wave)

- The Archies! (The Riverdale bunch also wave)

- The Misfits! (Jem's nemeses wave, and glare at their competitors)

- Josie and the Pussycats! (The Pussycats wave)

- The Neptunes! (Jabberjaw waves and makes a few nyuk-nyuks)

- Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kids! (These 70's H-B guys wave)

- Faith + One! (Cartman, Butters and Token of "South Park" wave)

- Fat Albert and the gang! (Fat Albert and his friends, with junkyard instruments in tow, all wave)

- Lisa Simpson! (Lisa walks out with her saxophone...)

- The Three Little Bops! (The three pigs from the "Looney Tunes" short walk out)

So, let's have at it... whoever our audience decides is the best band wins!

That's a tough one because there are 2 Cartoon bands I like, Alvin and the Chipmunks and Juniper Lee's band in the Juniper Lee episode "Enter Sandman".

From this list I would pick Jem in a close race over the Archies. Nothing beats Sugar, Sugar, but they're sort of a one hit wonder.

But my first pick would be the Galaxy Rangers, who brought down the house when they infiltrated a music competition as a rock band.

And if we can drag in anime, then Bubble Gum Crisis's Priss and the Replicants get my vote.

Yeah, I would too, even if I didn't watch the anime series (I heard about them from here (http://therossman01.tripod.com/top10babes/eight.html)).

I don't know....the only good one is the Chipmunks, IMO. So I guess I'll vote for them.

I give this one to Lisa Simpson, because I was so touched by her rendition of 'Jazzman' in 'Round Springfield' (that's the ep where Bleeding Gums Murphy died, and Lisa sang the song as a tribute to him.)
