BTW, is all this innuedo in the orinigal too, or is it just there to "spice" up the dub for a generic show? (I like Scryed, but as someone else said awhile back, Scryed is the collection of every shonen anime cliche ever. Or to be cliche, EVAR.)

Of course some things HAD to have been made with innuedo in mind when they were making it in Japan. I mean c'mon, one kid's mom dies and his alter comes out as an armless robot that's petite but has a big bust, the "mine and mine alone" line and the whole rivalry thing, one guy with his "huge and hard" giant gun "that's coming right at ya!", and the "Holy Ball 8" :p

Anyway, can't wait to see what's wrong with Kazuma's Shell Bullet. (Let's not analyze it, even this would be striving for connections in this show...or WOULD it? :p )

I wish they spent more time on the origin of the alter power and shown more fight scenes, then it would have been better than the average clip show. Couger did some crazy AWESOME stuff, he's my favorite character on the show. I do so hope annoying dream girl is dead.

Yeah, I realized that in around the third episode, although you can`t blame people for that first thought ^_^

I thought it was like a straight jacket to restrain the full power of the alter, and the show is proving me to be right.

Not bad for a recap episode, I liked how it switched between the people that the scenes happened to instead of sticking to one person narrating the whole thing. And yes, Cougar kicked ass in this episode, it's too bad he doesn't pop up much often.

This was a good episode, i liked it. We got a little depth into the alters of Holy. I wonder where Kanami is.

Would that every recap episode were like this. Manages to cover everything important while actually, wonder of wonders, progressing the story, and not only that but smashing us over the head with a massive cliffhanger (aaaah what happened to her!?). Marvelous. Straight Couger was great here too, he was a great character to begin with but since he was introduced we've seen beyond his hotshot exterior to see that he's his own man and is aware of a lot more than he lets on. He's likely the best character in the show, in my opinion.

Scryed is definitely the surprise of the ASA summer lineup. Its over the top and sometimes even crazy, but you can count on it to entertain. And in between all the parody and hot blooded action the story is rather interesting as well. In particular the rivalry between Kazuma and Ryuhoh, which has managed to transcend a simple grudge (I must become stronger and beat him for the sake of pride!) to be a conflict of ideology also.

All in all B+ so far, hopefully the next half will live up to what's aired up to this point.

Not that I have a really have a super-high opinion of it, but this is the best part of it. All up to the final episode, that one is kinda... crap. The Shonen Slump. There's a better finale before it, though. Like A.I.

this was half recap and half new stuff :eek: the flashbacks they picked were mostly all good but there could have been less of the big magnum battle. seeing Cougar use his powers not in a vehicle was a treat :) and the cliffhanger end is mean Kanami should be untouchable

Cougar owns your soul. As soon as he busted into the prison I was just waiting for the "Minori', "It's Mimori" part. And his scene with Mimori at the end was awesome, too.

In fact, Cougar is just great period.

So...uhh... I just have to ask. There won't be any more cows? I don't know if it's just me who notices, but, almost every episode of Scryed has had a cow making a short cameo and mooing in the background. Guess someone in the production staff likes cows a lot. Poor cows...damn those HOLD bastards! They didn't have to kill those poor defenselss cows! MOO... :crying:
