Well, I'm gonna get myself into some more trouble and put out some of my opinions. I hope it sparks some good conversation that doesn't involve burning someone at the stake.

1) The whole thing seemed kind of, well, dead. Even with the reactor, I kind of watched it as if they were changing a spark plug in a car. Throught the episode, it all was just a lot of indifference coming from everywhere and everyone. Superman could have remedied this, if he didn't look like he's got a monster hangover and sounding like he needs a nap whenever he speaks. ("Taking his own hand, boy...I can't.....so sleepy...shouldn't have drank whole bottle of Nyquil...")
2) I've never seen Martian Manhunter be so useless. Ever. Even Superman is useful as a shield that attracts missles, lasers, etc. Wonder Woman should have just left with MM in the second half and gotten some coffee. Or MM should have started to breakdance behind Aquaman when he gave his "My isolation has cost me dearly" speech, causing Wonder Woman to spew milk out her nose. Then I would have enjoyed the episodes. (Yes, I'm a jerk.)
3) While I watched both parts of the story, the JL just didn't seem to belong at all. It's as if the writers sat down and tried to divide up what the other characters besides Aquaman would do, looking more to give heroes their respected air time instead of what most likely would happen.
4) My last argument: It felt to me that they were trying too hard with Aquaman. They traded his naturally campy "I talk to fish and swim real well" atmosphere by pumping him full of "tough", which is understandable but they kept pushing it so much that I started choking on it.

Granted, it wasn't one of his best appearances, but J'onn did contribute to the team effort. However, I thought that the League did pretty good in both parts.

I like the newer, badass Aquaman. He's not even wearing that stupid metal thing on his chest that he started wearing during Peter David's run!
