Eh... a pretty disappointing selection of cartoons tonight. I was expecting the Opera episode to be cartoons we've all seen a zillion times, but the line-up for the Sylvester episode was kind of a disappointment, too. I was hoping they'd air a Sylvester/Speedy cartoon.
Also, it's still Dec. 16. Not the 17th. I will edit the thread for you. :D

Eh, they should titled tonight's first epsiode "Chuck Jones Opera Cartoons" and I thought both episodes were very disapointing.

And for crying out loud, dont do a restrospective for a character if the cartoons are gonna be edited. The Fudd show last month was terrific, mainly because the cartoons were rare. This was a chance to show some uncut cartoons. CN blew it. And the first show was a pathetic excuse to show the same Jones cartoons that CN apparently is in love with.

Why can't they show the cartoons on Toonheads uncensored if the show is being targeted toward adults?

And as an overview of Sylvester's history, it wasn't very satisfying. They barely even mentioned Tweety, Junior or Hippety, and didn't mention Speedy at all. I think it would have worked better as an hour long show (like the Fudd episode).
Here's how I would have put it together :p :
"Life With Feathers" - uncut, of course
"Catch as Cats Can"
"Tom-Tom Tomcat"
"Pop 'Im Pop!" - or any Sylvester/Junior/Hippety cartoon
"Speedy Gonzales"
And if there was room for a 6th cartoon, maybe one of Jones' Porky & Sylvester cartoons.

Well, I did not see either one of last night's TOONHEADS shows, but judging from the titles they choose and the two which were shown edited, I guess I didn't miss much...
What's the purpose of putting together a type of show like this when the material being selected is either repetitive or edited? Pointless? You be the judge...

Unacceptable. Boo hiss! The opera episode bored me because I'd already seen those dozens of times, and the Sylvester ep would have been great had they left the cartoons uncut. I can't believe they still won't let those two films go uncut on an adult program. Both edited scenes were very inoffensive, the one in "Scaredy Cat"...involving a gun that MISSES Porky anyway. Maybe G.A.K. or cartoon Network made a mistake, but ONE of those two parties should have done something. Okay, they can show their hack-job cartoons on regular roation, but in the case of "Scaredy Cat", they left out an entire scene, it was obvious, and there was no explanation that this scene was edited. They even cut Porky off in mid-sentence and don't even bother to give us a fake transition to the next scene! Now, any other time of day if CN wants to get picky they can, but a show like this needs to be treated with more respect. If it's edited, it's not the same film, that's how I see it. I know that "Scaredy Cat" is available unedited AND with original titles, they even showed the card in the trivia segment. G.A.K., and Cartoon Network, wake up, grow up and give us the real thing, and if you can't show the film unedited on Toonheads, don't show it on Toonheads!

They also played a few clips from the majorly edited scene.
If anyone wants a completely unedited copy of "Scaredy Cat" with original titles, join the Columbia House series, and get RUNNING AMUCK. However, the print of "Scaredy Cat" is all it's worth, and I was very unsatisfied with the Jones salute. They didn't even have a Road Runner cartoon, for crying out loud!

There were two scenes missing, actually. Don't forget the scene in Porky's room where Sylvester threatens to shoot himself was also cut (like usual).

I'm sure when I say this about the new season of "Toonheads" has been all but disapointing this new season. The only new great episode was the season premiere of the Elmer Fudd special and since then the epsidoes haven't been all that.
Last night's two epsiodes were very disapointing and was hoping to see some other opera cartoon that don't get much airplay, but intsead we get a "Chuck Jones Overplayed Opera Cartoons" which should have been the title of that episode. And the one featuring Sylvester wasn't that good either, with know mention of Hippety Hopper and Speedy Gonzalez
What I would like to know is this one question..Whatever happen to the planed hour long special, "12 MISSING HARES" about the twelve BB cartoons that were banned from JB.That's one special that everybody was hoping that would air for the new season and still no word on what going on with that special.
Then they have to edit cartoons for this ADULT program, and I just don't understand this at all. We couldn't even see a "Bosko" or a "Buddy" cartoon during the hour special on the early works of Friz Freleng????
Mr. Gak, I know that you're working real hard on making these new episodes and I thought you wanted to know what cartoons we would want to see on Toonheads. And to be totally honest with you, but we want to see new episodes UNCUT! and have the very rare cartoons presented on this show. But instead we get treated to the same over and overplayed cartoons that we keep on seeing way too many times...Please give all of those cartoons a rest,
Last night's "Opera Cartoons" could have been a much better episode a 1000% times better, but intsead we see overplayed cartoons.
Why don't you guys start using your ideas that we all gave you and I know that everybody put a lot of time and major effort to give your network ideas for new ideas for future editions of Tooneheads and I hope we can start seeing our ideas real soon , cause the new episodes ain't cutting it one bit.

But they leave in a very similar scene in One Meat Brawl. I love CN's inconsistant editing. Rabbit Seasoning, Rabbits Feat and Iceman Ducketh are fine but Daffy's Inn Trouble is edited? What's wrong with Hasty Hare? Jerry's Diary is unedited but the exact same scene from Yankee Doodle Mouse always is, especially when Safety Second is untouched. Scooby and Shaggy can dress like chinese stereotypes for a prolonged gag but Little Runaway and Puss N' Toots are edited. And what is so wrong about the indian scene in Flirty Birdy? Seems like CN really doesnt like going back to previously edited cartoons like Scaredy Cat and fixing the edit.

I think that "The Evolution of Elmer Fudd" was a great example of what we would all like to see from Toonheads. Just go back and look at our responses: http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=11663&highlight=evolution+elmer+fudd
The episode contained a few rarities.
I can understand if banned cartoons can't make it onto the show, but I think that isn't too much to ask that we see cartoons on Toonheads that are rarer. Toonheads is supposed to be for real cartoon fans, and I think that we all expect different material from Toonheads than from Acme Hour or Bugs & Daffy.
UGH...
UGHUGHUGHUGHUGH...
Normally I'm not one to complain as I've just beens itting back as of latequietly (that and my modem connection sucks)
But this season of Toonheads has been outrageously mediocre minus the Elmer Fudd show. I hate to be prudish almost (and I guess in a sense I am), but HOW MANY TIMES have we seen those Chuck Jones music tunes? At least one of them is played once a month twice at most :P
And even if the wont show him, you mean to tell me that they cant even MENTION SPEEDY???? What about Hippety Hopper? Bosko and Buddy are relegated to nothing. Heck, if we cant see the more classic Speedy's - I know the Larriva ones arent of best quality but THEYRE NOT OFFENSIVE !!
Gah. Now I'm all ranting and getting off topic, but this is just very dissapointing in the long run

If you don't mind me saying, why is this thread so important? And I've got this strange feeling that someone is trying to sabotage my posts.

I thought it was getting a little too crowded at the top of the board with "important" messages. I figured Nelson's "Toon Star of the Month" had been there long enough, the same with Brian's Toonheads schedule. I assume this thread was made important so our friend, Mister GAK, can see our comments about these episodes of Toonheads.
I don't understand why you think we are out to "sabotage" your posts, Pietro.
-Jon
Yeah, too many "important" threads looks very sloppy, and after a while, they die because some people have a natural tendency to ignore important threads.
I had made your last "Toon Heads" thread important, but only after someone else had unstuck one of the threads. Four "important" threads is too many, IMO.
I'm not sure why you think we'd want to sabotage your posts. Like Jon said, it was probably made important so GAK could see our opinions.

I just made it "important" because this thread was generating many comments, and thought GAK would like to read them.

I would also like to say that the lineup for "A Night at the Opera" is exactly the same as an episode of Bugs and Daffy, where the same 3 shorts are played. With the same editing.

OK, now I understand. It was just a misunderstanding. I didn't mean sabotage in the true sense of the word - I was just supicious.:)

I really don't mind that it was taken down, after all over 247 viewers checked out my post and I wan't thank everybody for making it a great success.I hope that everybody will get to learn all about the characters, beacuse doing something like this is not easy, it takes a lot of time and a lot work to put something like this together.
As a matter of fact, that once the first "Toon Star Of The Month" went up, I already started working on next month's "Toon Star" and it will be really great and filled with a lot of things that maybe you didn't know about the famous cartoon star.
I would like thank persoanlly Jon, Brian, and Matthew for putting up my post as Important, and I hope that you guys will continue tradtion every month.
Thanks my brothers and sisters :D :D :D
And check out the complete sound release dates for Krazy Kat, that I posted late last night.

No, I think that would make for one confusing thread (having two different Toonheads conversations going on at the same time in the same thread).
