A few less classic cartoon showings on CN in January...

Apparently, CN has decided that it hasn't devoted enough airtime to the Cartoon Cartoons. Starting in January, the CC shows will last all night long (http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=14561) ... meaning one less showing of Acme Hour, Bugs & Daffy, and Tom & Jerry. Also, the Mon-Wed 11pm and 11:30pm B&D and T&J shows will be replaced by Batman and Superman. And we'll be getting only one Popeye Show per week.

Sounds suspiciously like someone at AOL Time Warner may be trying to move some more of the classic stuff over to Boomerang in the hopes that more cable systems will clear that channel for inclusion on their systems. :mad:

I still don't think the classic 'toons fit in with Boomerang's 60s and 70s philosophy, except for showing authentic Bugs Bunny and Road Runner shows from that era.

If The Powers That Be gotta push them elsewhere, it can just as well be TCM...where the human-type movies are uncut! :D

TCM would be an ideal channel for classic cartoons.

They showed a MINSTREL SHOW short as a "One Reel Wonder" last week that had blackface singers.

I am so tired of Cartoon Cartoons. How many freakin' times do we wanna watch the same Dexter and PPG episodes. Considering there wont be new PPG shows for a while, there really is nothing new to watch. CN should be ashamed.

I mean, most of the programming day is filled with either Cartoon Cartoons or Scooby Doo. The Looney Tunes, Tom and Jerry and Popeye dont have enough airtime as it is, at least for me. Cant we write to CN and complain. I dont wanna watch the same Dexter episodes that I've seen a million times since 1997. That show is aired so often that it repeats every other week.

I like Batman and Superman too...but darnit, that really sucks. Look on the bright side, we still get "Looney Tunes" on weekend mornings for four hours, and that's a lot better than that one "Cartoon Cartoon Summer", where they stuck a bad cow and chicken cartoon in the "Bugs and Daffy" show leaving only two cartoons a day!

Back when CN first announced that they had acquired the "entire" LT/MM catalog I was worried - with good reason, it seems.

CN has what every PUSHER wants. A monopoly on this particular drug - and they can cut it anyway they want - and there's nothing we can do about it. :( :mad:
