I've got KOTOR I, and I enjoy it, although the last time I installed it on my PC there was something wrong with the Undercity part.
So the question is: Should I get KOTOR II for PC (I have no Xbox and am not allowed having one) or buy something else?
If it has Jedi combat and skills and stuff, I'll probably get it. But the ending is supposed to be awful, light OR dark. Is any of this true?
I'd like some info on whether I should buy it now, later (when the price goes down) or never.

~s7If you liked KOTOR, then I'd say yeah, get the second one. The issues with the ending stem from the fact that LucasArts only gave Obsidian a year to finish the game, which wasn't enough time for what they wanted to do. So the game feels a little unpolished in places and some content that was originally intended wasn't featured. But despite that, it's a heck of a lot of fun and I preferred it to the first. There's a compelling story, an ending that works (even if it was smaller in scale than originally intended), and the great addition of influence when interacting with members of your party. Like the first, there's great dialogue choices, great light/dark choices, and the same cool battle system. Comparable in length to the first (and maybe slightly longer), it's definitely a fun game, despite its shortcomings.

Wait for a price drop. It'll probably become a Platnium Hit on Xbox fairly soon (within the next 3 months). If not, I'd still advise you to wait until it does. I bought the game the day it came out and I regret doing so only because my love of the first. This one is even more buggy than the original, and the difficulty level is practically non-existant. Despite of all its flaws, it's definately a rewarding game with the influence system you can have on your party members. It's worth playing, but not unless it's $20.

I'd pick it up if you enjoyed the first game. I have KOTOR2 and have yet to finish it, but the pacing is alot slower than that of the original, but by all means KOTOR 2 is not a bad game. I believe you can get it on PC now for as cheap as $20 at some stores.

Go for it if it's $20. It's the great game until the final stronghold and whatnot.

My bad, but yeah, $20 for the PC version too.
