i love this series! it's one of the best plots ever--a boy and his father fall into cursed springs, causing ranma and dad to change into pretty girl and panda respectively. you gotta see it!

I've heard a lot about this show, but have never seen an ep. What struck me was that it's a wacky comedy, with people falling in love with the male and female versions of Ranma and so forth. But, it's also an action show with great fight scenes!? Something like Tenchi Muyo then? Though, I assume Ranma came first.

It's a fun "pickup" show but starts to show signs of repetitiveness in later seasons and specials.

Yes, it's a funny "martial arts" comedy. It's sort of like Tenchi, but not an "all the girls in the show like the main character" kind of show. Not to say that a lot of girls don't like Ranma, just not all of them. ;)


Second, Ranma is kind of a jerk, which is a change of pace. I guess he would be pissed about being part male, part female (when you splash cold water on him he turns into a girl...a "curse" he got while travelling in China--it gets complicated from here).

If it weren't for the fact that nudity was used as a main source of comedy, I would heartily recommend it for adult swim. There are a lot of "sex" jokes some people would be amused at. Still, the nudity gags are some of the best parts of the show, and taking them out would take a lot of the bite out of the show.

Well, I've seen the first 2 episodes, the first movie, and 3 OVAs. I also have the first 3 manga. It's a really fun series! I'd like to get the first season DVD Box Set soon, but it's out of stock everywhere :mad:

I've seen the 1st few eps...
I'm vainly trying to watch them in order.....yeah, it's close to impossible. *sigh*

Yeah, it would be cool on Adult Swim...dunno how they'd get around the nudity thang...I dunno the rules on nudity & basic cable.
