Okay, this is a modification of a story I started about this time last year. It's the first part of who knows how many, it just depends on the ideas I get as I'm writing. So, hope you enjoy this little piece, it's not much but it's getting me prepared to write one heck of a story later on....
Batman Animated: Rebirth
A cool spring fall night in Gotham city. Two men stand on the roof of Vreland Towers as the rest of their group is inside trying to open the safe in the president's office.
"We're almost finished down here. You guys have any problems?" the voice on the other end of the reciever asks.
"Nope, all quite up.... here." A shadow descends on the two men. Batgirl pounces on the larger man. She kicks him in the chin, knocking him out. The other man tries to slowly back away. Robin swings onto the scene.
"Relax. Lemme help you off your feet!" Robin says, and with a sweeping kick, knocks the man down to the ground. He ties his arms and legs together and looks over to Batgirl. "Man, Batman was right about you. One hit and you took the guy down!" Suddenly, Batgirl charged toward Robin. "Whoa! What're you doing?" He starts to back away when she leaps over him and punches another man with a baseball bat. Robin turns, wide-eyed, and looks at Batgirl. "That's why I'm glad I'm one of the good guys."
"Robin," Oracle broke in over his earpiece, "I've called the GCPD to take care of the rest of that group. Batman needs you two to meet him over at Star Labs Gotham ASAP."
Robin pulled out a grappling hook and shot it. "On our way," he said, jumping from the side of the building. Batgirl was right behind him.

Batman was on one of Star Labs research buildings looking into another with his binoculars. Robin and Batgirl dropped down behind him. "Clayface broke in a little while ago," he said. "He must be after that formula Hamilton developed that would make him whole again. I think we should drop in for a visit." They moved along to the building and enter through the air vents on the roof. They split up to cover the area quicker. "A guard and two scientists are down up here."
"The alarm's been cut off as well," Robin answered. Batgirl moved down to the research area. She saw a figure standing over a case.
"Think... I found him," she said the best she could. She turned the corner, and the man still stood in the same place. "You. Drop it. Turn around." The figure remained stationary. Then she heard heavy breathing coming from behind her.
"Lookin' for me?" Clayface towered over Batgirl, laughing in a deep tone. She turned quickly, but Clayface slammed her into the wall behind a research table. She let out a groan, and fell to the floor. Clayface moved towards the figure and joined back with it, then went to Batgirl's side. His arm started to quiver as it formed into a black fist, then his body did the same as he assumed the shape and costume of Batgirl. He covered her mouth with a piece of mud as he hid her behind the cabinets. He bagan to smile.
"Now to take care of the other two."
