First it was the AoD forums, now it's the Voice Acting Alliance forums.

This has not been a good month for me on the net

This may sound like I'm really thinking outside of the box, but have you tried sticking to the rules of the said forums??

Obviously, you got banned for a reason... why is that? Are the two reasons similar? Perhaps you shouldn't do whatever that is then, eh?

But I do try to stick to the rules

Spamming doesn't get anyone banned (if you don't do it all the time). The only way to get banned is arguing (especially with mods) and posting porn. Make sure you don't use no cuss words either.

I only got banned from a forum once in the lifetime. I can't imagine being banished from two in the same month. Are you going through a troublesome period (I mean time)? If someone bashes you using colorful language, don't flame back but rather report them to the mods.

I don't think he should reduce himself to squeal on others (he/she said something bad about me etc.). And If a mod bans someone just because you disagree with him/her, then that’s just wrong. Mods should not use personal baggage like that.

I don't think he should reduce himself to squeal on others (he/she said something bad about me etc.).That's really a personal decision. Now, I don't report much (because not much bad is said), but if it comes to it, I might have to. Most times, though, I just reason things out.

The only way to get banned is--Uh, no. The "only way" changes with every forum and every moderator, you shouldn't assume about rules (other than the basics, of course).

But I do try to stick to the rulesWell there must be a reason you got banned, so either you didn't [stick to the rules], or you just really ticked off an uptight mod.

You get banned for not following the rules.

That's all.

You must not have followed the rulers

Mods should not use personal baggage like that. I said "if they use colorful language". That way he's free to report them if he feels they are on a lower mental level than him and thus doesn't want to indulge in a pointless flame war, and as most forums disprove use of such words he'd be doing a good thing.

Of course if it is a civilized debate things are little different.

EDIT: Scratch what I said, just listen to Knux Five.

Grant, I saw your posts over there. And I hate to say it, but you were being quite bloody annoying.

That's why they banned you. The end.

I have a friend that got banned from a message board because the Administrator and a couple of posters didn't like her.

I slammed the Administrator of that same board, attacking her character and everything, and I didn't get banned.

True story.

I feel for you. I know i've never been banned from a forum but I have been skating on thin ice once in a while.

Well, from a mod/admin perspective, unless the person banning you is infamous on the forum for being "trigger happy" with their users, then you were banned for a reason. Most likely being that you didn't follow the rules - or better yet, "the ways" - of the board.

I try not to ban people unless they are blatantly breaking the rules and/or spamming, and what's both sad and funny about it is that despite multiple warnings from other mods, and just people in general telling them to cut the crap (but in a nicer way, of course), they still don't understand why it had to come to an account suspension.

I'm not trying to infer that the above situation is similar in your case, GrantM13459, but I'm just throwing out the POV of a mod/admin of another board.

In internet forums perminant banning really isn't all that perminant. ISP's do switch ISP numbers to consumers from time to time.

Not to mention some forums do data dumpings which is the deletion of old threads, posts, and accounts that remained inactive for an extended ammount of time...those accounts include those of banned members as well.

However Grant, from my understanding. You kinda got banned because you were acting along the lines of desperate fanaticism...

Keep up threads like these and you'll wind up getting banned here, too.

...Just sayin'.

Or in the case of a board I was banned at, wait until someone hacks it. After it got hacked, I rejoined.

We already have a thread about this. Therefore, this thread is closed.
