The "Current Comics" column in the December 21 issue of Comics Buyer's Guide (#1466) includes an item about the new JSA penciller, Leonard Kirk. Also in this column are articles about the WB's picking up Smallville for a full season as well as the strong ratings for the Cartoon Network's Justice League.
This issue's "Reading Room" spotlights WONDER WOMAN: SPIRIT OF TRUTH as a "Pick of the Week," with Todd Haefer calling it "a book with worthwhile messages and gorgeous art," and giving it a grade of "A+." Also reviewed is THE POWERPUFF GIRLS #21, which receives a grade of "B-," LOONEY TUNES #83, which receives a grade of "B," and CATWOMAN #1, with S.A. Bennett writing, "Ed Brubaker has done an impressive job encapsulating everything Catwoman has done and been to nudge her into a new direction...Darwyn Cooke and Mike Allred provide incredible art...with a subdued, controlled color scheme by Matt Hollingsworth that neatly anchors an outstanding package."
