The Great American Bash is now behind us. The event saw The Undertaker destroy Muhammad Hassan by giving the Arab-American the Last Ride through the stage. SmackDown! General Manager Theodore R. Long has gone on WWE.com stating that Hassan will never be welcome back on SmackDown! Also that night, JBL beat by Batista... by DQ and the very unlikely team of Road Warrior Animal & Heidenreich became WWE Tag Team Champions!
Tonight, Long plans to announce the SmackDown! main event for SummerSlam!

think Christian would be a good US champ. Maybe he'll be the one instead of Benoit who gets the Gold.
So Darth Eddie is Dominic's father. Not surprised at all. Eddie did an amazing promo after with his bedtime story book. Probably the best actor in the WWE today. He can make a contrived and lame angle interesting by just his presence. And http://67.18.37.14/html/emoticons/laugh.gif http://67.18.37.14/html/emoticons/laugh.gif http://67.18.37.14/html/emoticons/laugh.gif http://67.18.37.14/html/emoticons/laugh.gif http://67.18.37.14/html/emoticons/laugh.gif at Eddie's monkey impression at the end. I wonder if they might be doing a redux of the classic Raven/Sandman angle. (minus the cruicfixition of course) With Dom acting more like Eddie. Hair, Gestures, catchphrases. Might be a great angle if that happens.
More Wrestlecrap as Jillian Hall debuts with a gigantic mole. http://67.18.37.14/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif http://67.18.37.14/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif Best part was Tazz's reactions. http://67.18.37.14/html/emoticons/laugh.gif
Poor William Regal. His book comes out, he has a great match with Benoit. And he's treated like a jobber. No entrance at all. Sad, http://67.18.37.14/html/emoticons/sad.gif http://67.18.37.14/html/emoticons/sad.gif Plus he has no match as the Mexicools interfere. I guess that's payback for regal not doing anything when the Mexicools attacked Morgan.
For a Post PPV Smackdown, there was not one appearance of Batista. I mean he's the Champ, and a star. He should've done commentary for the match at least. That's not a good sign when you're Champ is mentioned only in commentary.
Predictable end, as Orton interferes (with Girls cheering their heads off) setting up Orton/Taker at Summerslam, and JBL/Batista as well. I shudder to think of the reviews that JBL/Batista II will get.

And Teddy Long begins the “the writers cost Hassan his spot” shuffle. JBL did a good two-step by making up the contract clause.
The tag match was a good way to follow-up to the GAB. Christian played it off well, but I think Jordan just didn’t tap quick enough for CC to look okay trying to make the save.
I liked it when Animal came back, I thought here was a nice little way to pay tribute to the Legion of Doom and hype the DVD. Now he’s half of the Tag Champions and Heidenreich got a haircut. This is so not what I had in mind.
 The growth on the side of the face gag?! Wow, someone fire the head SmackDown! writer. I can’t believe they fired Joy and then add someone like this.
Lemme guess, WWE is all its infinite wisdom, had decided that the Boogeyman will be at home on SmackDown! No surprise there.
And SmackDown!’s most recent obvious secret is revealed. This once again, marks a stupid and foolish departure for the Superstars of SmackDown! with Eddie being a huge slimeball and Rey’s son in some ways being taken away from him. If you take this and put it together with Angle and his “fetish” and Hassan and his “sympathesizers” it shows that the creative direction of SmackDown! is clearly lost.
Blurring on Melina?!!! BOO!
The second Scotty made his way to the ring to “take on” Regal I knew the match was not going to actually take place. It disgusts me to see a classy, old-school wrestler like William Regal covered in soda, popcorn and nachos. Not a good use of the lastest WWE author.
As much as I don’t care to see JBL in the main event, there was something oddly satisfying about watching The Undertaker lose his number one contendership.

Why the hell did they blurr Melina this week. She does that same entrence every week and they blurring her now that is stupid.

A sub par Smackdown! follows a sub par PPV. Apparently Vince didn't like GAB if Smackdown's! head writer was fired. The only thing I found enjoying was the Booker T/ Chris Benoit vs. Orlando Jordan/ Christian macth-up. Christian is still the best man on Smackdown! I kept expecting Batista to at least get an interview, but we get the return of Orton instead as he spoils it for Undertaker. Orton vs. Undertaker will be more entertaining than Undertaker vs. Batista, but Hassan vs. Batista would have rocked if only UPN hadn't banned Hassan. Hassan is offically gone though, even from the intro, and they add more Batista and Road Warrior Animal to replace his intro spots. I guess Animal is around for the long run, and now they can once again say he's held every tag title in exsistence. This is his first time with the WWE Tag Title after all.

I only saw the Chris Benoit/Booker T vs Christian/Orlando Jordan tag match, and it looked pretty good. I really like these 4 wrestlers and they put on an entertaining match. It'd be nice to see any of these guys with gold (not counting Jordan who has the US title right now).

I thought I read it here on Toon Zone somewhere, but maybe I misread it. I do know it says Vince wasn't happy with GAB though in the GAB prediction thread.

Since we're talking about the (incompetent) writers I'd thought I'd mention this (Sorry if it's already been said)
Three new writers (that know not a thing about wrestling) have been hired to the WWE creative team recently. One of them, a female brought in from the Nickelodeon channel, asked JBL recently how they made the ‘fake blood’ continue to look like it was flowing out of his head.

WTF mate! Why would they hire writers who don't know crap about wrestling? That is a really dumb decision. Somehow I think the writing will get worse not better.

You think that's bad.......well actually it is bad but the last writer they hired before them was someone who worked on 90210 or some other show like that

Smackdown can't get out of its own way. JBL has a contract for a rematch for World Heavyweight title, but he doesn't enforce the clause. Instead of this logic, he decides to face Undertaker in a number one contender's match. It doesn't matter if Theodore Long is the law on SD. The match was predictable, and one of the other toon zoners predicted the outcome after the Great American Bash. Orton has the ability to be a top heel, but can he stay healthy and off suspension from the active roster?
Eddie is Dom's father. When will this feud end? This feud has become stale.
I'm not surprised the tag champs are squashing ham-n-eggers in under a minute. The Road Warriors' stragety was to never sell and to squash the oppopents quickly. The tag titles are still worthless.
The writers couldn't come up with anything better for Jillian than a giant mole. The producers do realize the shock value will fade after each subsequent appearance.
Jordan and Christian versus Benoit and Booker T was good until the botched finish. The ending will probably be cover-up with a feud between Jordan and Christian for U.S. title. Two heels feuding is rare these days.
If the reviews are true, Batista must be in hiding after his match at the Great American Bash.

Probably because the ones that DO know about wrestling doesnt have the minimum credentials.

Thus why the quality of both shows is in the absolute toilet. I don't even bother to watch either live any more. I can start watching at about 1:15 in and catch up wiht plenty of time to spare with the old tivo fast forward now a days. With only about 3-4 actual wrestling matches for 2 hours there is just too much filler... and the filler is not good

It seem like Christian was supposed to break the crossface but hestitated. Christian rolled out of the ring and didn't attack a weaken Benoit. Cole and Tazz sounded confused, but then again they always sound confused. The ending seemed botch because two heels feuding is rare -- especially over a championship in WWE.

I wasn't paying real close attention, but from what I saw it seemed like the typical 'heel leaves his partner to the wolves' finish rather than anything botched.

This "giant mole" thing... It's too stupid, and yet the "mole" looks so bizarre that it's too weird to be funny-stupid. It's like some sort of alien parasite thing.
But it's bound to look different every week, so I'll play it by ear, I guess.

I think they'll be going more for a Jordan vs. Benoit vs. Booker vs. Benoit Match.

Quoting myself feels weird, but I need to follow-up...
The tag match was a good way to follow-up to the GAB. Christian played it off well, but I think Jordan just didn’t tap quick enough for CC to look okay trying to make the save.I'm with Memphis Bleek on the tag match being "botched." As you can see above I think OJ should have tapped quicker or maybe Christian wasn't supposed to be in the ring—it didn't feel right.
Now for the main reason I'm quote myself...

If you take this and put it together with Angle and his “fetish” and Hassan and his “sympathesizers” it shows that the creative direction of SmackDown! is clearly lost.Watching The WWE Experience this morning, I remember the other reason the ‘Eddie is Dominic’s father’ angle falls into the same category as the Angle and Hassan angles. The bedtime story that Eddie told in some ways actually happened. In June 2001 when Guerrero was released from the WWF due to his drug issues, Eddie and Vicki became seperated and maybe even divorced and during that time he fathered a child with another woman (as talked about in the “Cheat Death, Stealing Life” special). The SmackDown! writing team is a mess and seems to have little respect for its Superstars.
