View Full Version : Dark Horse Villains on Justice League?

Does anyone have a "dark horse candidate" for an appearance on Justice League--meaning someone who you're pretty sure that they won't appear but you'd like to see anyway? I have three:

Magog
The version from Kingdom Come, not the one from the crappy mini-series that introduced Hypertime. I'd love to see Superman fight his iconic opposite (traditional caped hero versus cybernetically enhanced, scarred, grim-and-gritty "hero").

Manga Khan
From Justice Leage International #14, he's a goofy, all powerful character who roams the universe searching for "the Ulitmate Bargin." He'd be really stupid, but he could fill the Mr. Mxyztplk position in the Justice League's rogues gallery (c'mon, Paul Dini could write it!).

Mr. Nebula
Another refugee from the 1980s (appearing in Justice League America #36), he's like Galactus as an interior designer from Las Vegas--he redesigns the cosmos to his incredibly tacky taste. Again, stupid, but could be funny.

The best thing about bringing in Magog would be that they could FINALLY DEFINE HIS POWERS!!!

The only thing is, they might have a hard time bringing in the Justice Battalion, since at least one member ( Thunderbolt ) isn't owned by DC, anymore.

Still, such a conflict could be a 3-parter, or even a movie.

Not a problem, DC Comics has a wealth of characters from Kingdom Come to fill out the Justice Battalion.

I've heard that Thunderbolt rumor before, but I don't buy it. Is this confirmed?

I've only heard second-hand, and off-hand, at that.

Still, I think using mostly JB characters would be great. Some in particular:

-Thunderbolt, with a heap of Ozymandias' "sacrifice for the greater good"

-Peacemaker being patriotic, but violent

-Question as a Batman-type, but without the qualms against killing

-Captain Atom, a little like Supes, but freer with force, and perhaps a touch demanding

Some of the JB would be tough to characterize like this ( Blue Beetle, I think, might have to be dropped ), and others are open to new characterization ( Alloy, Judomaster, Shade?? ), but I think this would have the most potential.

It would also have the bonus of bringing the Charleton characters in. :)

On this, is their any possibility that Timm might work on a Watchmen animated miniseries??

Not bad, but I'd rather see the Charlton characters introduced in other ways. There were so many cool Kingdom Come characters (666, Manotaur, Nightstar, Nucleoid, Devil Damsel, etc.) that I'd rather see them instead.

I wouldn't mind seeing Deathstroke, the Terminator when they need a mercenary like Deadshot. He would have been more of a challenge than Deadshot was.
