I saw this too...it was hilarious. If any of you ever see this episode rerun (its musical guest was No Doubt and it was a Christmas themed episode, don't remember who hosted) tape it. The TV Funhouse cartoon featured the little snowman from Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, as well as most of the other characters from the special. Yes, these were the true characters, in a brilliant parody. The snowman decides that thee special isn't important this year because of September 11th, and tells kids through their TV Screen that he doesn't want to narrate this year. The kids, also rendered in stop-motion style, wonder how Rudolph is going to escape the Abominable Snowman, and I won't give away the rest, except that it's very adult and very funny.

probably because I saw a lot of myself in the Snowman. I've been depressed and all "what's left to live for?" these past few months, but by laughing at this, and in a way, myself, my Mom says I'm ahead of the game. Good to know. Here's to hoping it continues. By the way, Matt, Ellen DeGeneres was the host.
Sincerely,
John "Captain Caps" Kilduff

As a long-time SNL fan, I needless-to-say saw it! It was a classic. Smigel does good with Christmas themes.

Agreed! One of my favorites from years past was "The Harlem Globetrotters' First Christmas."
I was also impressed by the quality of the new animation in "The Narrator That Ruined Christmas." The design of the new characters was spot-on!

As another fan of SNL, I saw it, too, and loved it. Rob Smigel is a genius.
