Well after watching my VHS tape today(got it when MOTP first came out)I noticed the quality in some areas was kinda bad, and I've kept my eye on the DVD since its release...but my gaming habits tend to drain me of any spare money :( Anyways, even though I already have the VHS version, is the DVD of Mask of the Phantasm worth it? Or should I just get it anyways because the movie is still so awsome? hehe :D

its totally bare bones, and altho there r rumors of it being re-released with the HBO behind-the-scenes special (which shouldve been on there in the first place), I would buy the DVD if I were u. I have had the VHS since it come out also, and I finally got a DVD player the day before Thanxgiving, and the first thing I bought was MOTP. Its pretty cool to see it in the fabulous quality.
its not as good of quality as ROTJ, but still pretty good
so ya, buy it man! :)

I'd love to see a rerelease of Batman: Mask of the Phantasm with some special features. I keep meaning to buy the old one, but it just doesn't impress me much.

Where did you hear that? According to WB they have no intentions in re-releasing the DVD.
I'd recommend picking it up. You'll get it dirt cheap just about anywheres and you'll pat yourself on the back for it.

I say get the DVD. You won't regret it, even if you feel it's not worth buying the movie twice. The only thing you will regret is that you ever wasted your time with VHS. When I got my DVD player at first, I didn't think I would replace as much as I did of titles I used to have on VHS, but DVD is so much better, you can't resist. And MOTP is worth many, many repeat viewings, all of which will never deteriorate on DVD like VHS would. No chance of color drop outs, wrinkling of the tape, that annoying bending of the picture at the top of your screen, and no chance the movie will be eaten up. DVD is superior in everway, and MOTP is one worth buying again.

get the DVD..I was amazed by the quality of it compared to the VHS (I got it when it came out as well). It's amazing..it completley "converted" me from VHS to DVD.. :)

There aren't really any extras on the disk, but DVDs in general have much better picture quality than video tapes. Plus, as has been stated before, you should be able to find it for cheap if you do a little digging.

Don't overlook the sound quality. I have VHS and DVD, and the sound on the DVD is so much better on my home theater system that it completely pulls you inside the story. It's not like you're watching it... it's like you're there.
I don't watch Sub-Zero over and over again nearly as often as I watch MOTP. It's really worth buying on DVD. I'd probably buy World's Finest on DVD if I could, too. Awww, who am I kidding? I'd buy them all on DVD if I could.

The DVD does include the worst theatrical trailer I have ever seen - a trailer for Mask of the Phantasm. The trailer is good to laugh at, and then wonder what the heck they were thinking when making that trailer.

The DVD is of decent video quality, though it could stand a remaster. Not the best, though it shines over the VHS, plus the disc is widescreen.
