View Full Version : How do you think Batman Beyond should've ended?

I know that "Return Of The Joker" is one possible ending to the series, but I think another way that "Batman Beyond" could've ended is if Bruce Wayne dies, and Terry inherets his entire company. However, If Terry's up to the challenge, (And he usually is) I'm wondering if he would be willing to let Dana share his secret the same way Max dose if such an event dose happen. Not only that, would Dana understand like Max dose. Another possible turn of events would be if Terry's mom were to be murdered. I just thought about this because even though Terry has Burce Wayne's determination, he also has a sence of humor like Spider-Man. Terry has other similarities to Spidey as well. Like a love interest.
Any thoughts?
...Bruce (35 years old) wakes up in the middle of the night: "Phew, thank god it was just an awful nightmare! I guess I breathed too much of Scarecrow's fear gas last night."
I guess it's not hard to tell how much I hate BB, I hate it even more than Batman & Robin.

I don't think it should have ended. Unlike my friend BWDK, I highly enjoyed BB. I just wish they made more episodes based on Batman's past and his villians. Mr Freeze, Ras A-Ghul, Joker were used.

These ideas are all bad. You don't always have to change something to come to a worthy ending.

Why? It did Batman much more justice than Batman & Robin did.

I wouldn't have minded seeing Batman Beyond's run end with the episode "Out of the Past". I thought the story was great, from the silly musical, to the reappearance of an old enemy, to Bruce and Terry fighting together all worked very well.
The ending was particulary good, with Bruce asking Terry if he was going to go out on patrol, and then sitting there alone at the computer. I think it would have been a great open-ended finale to the series.

Honestly, I loved the way it ended via ROTJ. Bruce and Tim making up, and Terry finding new purpose...

Okay, calm down folks. There's no reason to be hyper-critical of people's opinions.
Myself, I don't think we really needed an "ending..." I pesonally liked the end of ROTJ, where Terry flies off into the distance, ready to fight crime as always.

I enjoy watching BB too, with the knowledge that it's only a POSSIBLE future, and obviously not one that most fans would like to see happen I think...I could be wrong. I would be fine with BB having a definete close, but I also liked in ROTJ how ter just flew off into the night. But, if anything, I just wish that they would have done something about Nightwing, anything! Except having him killed off....then you would have heard news reports about a crazed fan killing off BB writers...

ROTJ would indeed have been a great ending for BB as well, since it featured the return of an old foe and the same type of open-ended finish I liked on "Out of the Past". When the biggest difference is that one was a feature-length DTV and the other was just a normal 30-min episode, though, I certainly agree that it makes for a bigger finale (and bookends the 2-part 'Rebirth' nicely.)
I guess I just have 'Out of the Past' on the brain since I saw it again a few days ago. "A superstitous cowardly loooooot!..." :D

OMG don't even type those lines from the that ridiculous play! ;) I think if maybe Bruce and Terry's roles were reversed in Out of the Past, it would have definitely satisfied me. Like say....
Bruce manges to escape from the house but Terry is caught. However, Terry throws his backpack to Bruce just as he is about to get caught. Ra's captures Terry and he is used as bait for Bruce. Bruce dons the suit once again and saves Terry. I would've loved to see Ra's or any of his henchmen's reaction to seeing Bruce in the batsuit again. Now THAT would've been great :D

Please tell me those aren't your favorite lines. Not with:
"I take it back. You don't cheat death...you whimper in fear of it."

--two things:
(1) Terry tells Dana about his night life. She freaks and runs out on him. This would pave the way for a broken, dark man, with is essentially the heart of the Batmythos: loss.
(2) Dana is hurt/killed and Terry is powerless to stop it. Again, the way is paved for a darker Tomorrow Knight.

I'd have Dick return and reveal what he's been doing, hence solving one last mystery of the show.

clayface and the return of mr freeze. another part 2 episode with the JLU team up vs Blacklight.
a another episode with spellbinder and another part 2 with inque and another episode with the
return of the royal flush gang. with ten in it.
