We don't know. She was barely touched upon at the 2001 San Deigo Comic Con. There were three different versions of the Cheetah in DC Comics, but they might just recreate her from the ground up.

Personally, I think that she looks strikingly similar to Selina Kyle's humanoid cat look from the BTAS episode Tyger, Tyger. Could be a connection...

Knowing how Timm feels about excessive continuity, I doubt there's any connection.

Although her look is different, I think they'll use her origins from the Wonder Woman/George Perez 80's revamp, in which she gets her powers from an ancient plant's addictive drug, which turns her into the Cheetah..or something along those lines...

In the new issue of Starlog (#294) Bruce Timm gives us some information on the Cheetah. He said:

"We definately have the Cheetah. My Cheetah is a really radical interpretation. She's not just a gal in a catsuit anymore; she's half-woman/half-cheetah--a biological fusion--and looks different from the original comic book version."

Well, I don't know about radically different--the modern Cheetah is a half-woman/half-cheetah--but it's a combination of the current look and the Golden Age look (no long hair). My question is thus: if she's half cheetah, can she run fast too?

I guess she'd be able to run halfway fast. :D

That would be logical... ;)

I want Silver Age Cheetah... Not as campy as the Golden Age one, but (I think) more interesting than the Modern one.
