I never understood people who started to bid for an item while the auction is going. I always avoided bidding wars by sniping, although it was not always easy, especially when you had to get up at 4 a.m. to bid in the very last minute.

Last month I stubbed about a site named Auctionsniper.com and it's great. You can set the time when you want to bid and it really works! I can win items while I'm in school or sleeping. I love it.

However I think eBay will shut down this site. Why? Because the site makes money with eBay but ebay is in no way affiliated with it and therefore they don't make money with. If more and more people start to use this service, bidding wars will be prevented, the items will become cheaper and the final auction fee will be less therefore ebay makes less money and therefore they will sue them.

Am I the only one who has this prediction?

Too bad because I always dreamed of a way to set your bid.

Thats a pretty cool site, although I prolly wont use it. I usually just put my bids in fairly early because

1. I've tried sniping a few times, but more often than not I've forgotten about auctions, so forgot to bid
2. Usually I'll have a max price range in mind, so I dont care too much to take the effort to snipe at the last second. If I dont get it now, I'll just get it later.

Of course, auctionsniper.com would prolly solve those 2 problems. But 3. I like being in control. :)

I'm not sure if it'll lead to items ending up cheaper though. ebay's almost like the stock market, close to perfect competition. Buyers will always set the price of an item, so i dont think it'll affect product prices too much.
