View Full Version : Who are the Supporting Villains?

In many of Bruce Timm's interviews, he talks about how the creative team will be slipping in DC villains in supporting roles:

“One of the cool things we’re doing is any time we need a secondary villain—along with a major villain we'll have a secondary villain who has a plot twist or something in the show to spice it up—instead of creating a villain, we're using old DC villains that we don't necessarily consider major,” Timm told the Comics Continuum. “They're not A-list villains, but we'll stick them in the secondary parts, so we’ll have cameos by well, I don’t want to give it away. But you’ll see. They’ll be a bunch of cool DC villains."

So far we've had Kanjar Ro and Deadshot (and I think that Copperhead will be the next one in Injustice For All). Does anyone have any villains that they'd like to see make supporting appearances? I think that it would be cool if they slipped Captain Nazi into The Savage Time.

Give me Silver Age villians, or give me a baloney sandwich! How cool would a Cluemaster appearance be? :D

If they ever do the Royal Flush Gang on Justice League (which Timm talked about for the potential season two), I'd like to see the Mad Hatter as the secondary villain (I miss Roddy, but the idea is almost too good to pass up).

I've never been a big fan of Mad Hatter (sorry, Hatter!)... But really, any Batman villian is a "good" villian! :wakko:

Just wondering why you would like to see the Hatter w/the RFG specifically? I wasn't sure if they shared some kind of connection or something. Or are you referring to the living playing cards in Alice in Wonderland?

What I'm afraid of is that the creative team will decide to label a particular villian as "secondary", when he has "primary" villian potential. I'd hate to see Despero or Amazo get the short end of the stick because their names end in "O." I guess I should take comfort that Timm said in his interview on this site that right now they are leaning towards using Amazo in the future and perhaps only changing his name.

I don't think Despero will be a secondary character. Amazo I'm worried about. With his powers he would make an excellent primary villain. I curious to see if anything is going to be done with Dr. Destiny and the Key. Prometheus would make heck of a primary character in 3 part storyline.

I agree with you about Dr. Destiny. Some of the most intriguing storylines in previous animated episodes have dealt with dreams or nightmares ("Over the Edge", "Perchance to Dream").

On the other hand, I've never enjoyed The Key as a big time JLA villian. He just seemed so gimmicky. Like a cosmic-sized Riddler. I wouldn't mind at all if the crew decided to make him a minor character.

Another old-time JLA villian that would be perfect for a more secondary role would be Dr. Light. He was written as the ultimate villian loser in his later comic book appearances, anyway.

Yes. I think that the Mad Hatter pledging his loyalty to the Queen would be funny. Off with his head!

Heh. :)

Well, I doubt we'll get to see Hatter. No Roddy McDowall and his wonderful inflections, no Hatter.

*sigh...*

Well, as much as it pains me to say it, the Mad Hatter can get a new voice (notice that I didn't say "Roddy McDowell can be replaced," :)). If Superman can get a new voice so can Jervis Tetch.

We could always have the Joker make a surprise appearance as the "Ace" of the Gang, just like in the old Super Powers episode!!!

I don't think Copperhead will be a supporting villain because he's mentioned in the recent list of villains that was released. If you noticed, Kanjar Ro and Deadshot were not listed. Both of whom were supporting villains.

But the RFG will not be a bunch of happy thieving teens! Why did they do that?

Kanjar Ro was listed, picture and all.

It just seems like Copperhead would fill that role. At the 2001 San Diego Comic Con, Bruce Timm described him as "one of those weird secondary DC villains who James Tucker just loves..." True, he said something similar about Ultra-Humanite, but he'll [reportedly] be back next season.

I didn't know that Ultra Humanite was going to be used as a supporting villain. He looks cooler than a supporting villain. Where did you hear that Ultra Humanite might be back next season? Do you know who else might be back?

The Ultra-Humanite was listed as a [potential] member of the Secret Society.

Check out this thread I started a few days ago--it could answer any potential questions:
