Best, Worst CN Moments of the Over-Half-Year

Well, we're firmly into July and the "Dog Days of Summer", so let's do a "Best and Worst of Cartoon Network" at the over-the-halfway point of 2005.

Best: There's a few. The new Foster's episodes, especially "Frankie My Dear", "Mac Daddy" and "My So-Called Wife." New shows The Life and Times of Juniper Lee and Joe Murray's Camp Lazlo. The first has piqued my curiosity, the other mixes the Rocko's Modern Life voice cast with some of CN's best, and throws in Jodi Benson as a bonus.

Worst: Eight words are in summation: Baby Looney Tunes and Ed Edd and Eddy. Pablium pukers and cliched plots in that order.

How about you? What are highlights and lowlights of this calendar year that is over 50% finished. Post your thoughts.

Best: The Star Wars: Clone Wars marathon on Toonami (all 25 eps, and I've still got it on my DVR!), Justice League Unlimited (keeps getting better and better, and I wish they would strip it every night, so I can have a chance to catch up on this season's eps). And that's about all for me.

EDIT: Add to "Best:" The arrival of CN and Boomerang on Demand in my area.


Worst: Winx Club (not anime-looking enough for me, I'm afraid) coming to CN, and the endless summer repeats during Lumpus & Slinkman's "Cabin Fever" marathons (8/22 can't come fast enough for me...or any of us, for that matter!)

Best: Most of the episodes from Foster's. Season two was better than the first one. Juniper Lee looks like it's going to be another great show from CN.

Worst: Really hard to say.

Best: Becoming hooked on 'Justice League Unlimited'; 'Dragonball Z Uncut' (more for 'testing the TV-PG waters outside of Adult Swim', rather than 'hey old-time DBZ fans, this is what you should've seen in 1996-97!')

Worst: Four letters. D.I.C.E. Enough said.

Apparently CKND writers are now finally starting to take away all the joy they brought to us (and they done it all in about ten seconds time).

The only 2005 stuff I've seen from CN so far is Foster's, Pet Alien (and perhaps KND... was PRESIDENT / HOSPITAL 2005 material?), although Juniper's coming in August.

Best: Deo chews out his producer during live variety hour. Honorable mentions: Mac goes crazy over sugar, and Frankie goes crazy over cookies.
Worst: Bendy spray-paints scot-free at the end of his ep. Honorable mentions: When There's A Wilt's abrupt end (it's almost like there's another good plot lurking under the premise), and Pet Alien being BORING. (ETA: Shout-out also goes to the continued snubbing of Party Wagon, which was, IMO, going to be the best Snee-Oosh series that wasn't titled Hey Arnold!)

ETA2: And Trog, Op GRADS was 2004 and Op END was 2003, so Bendy really was the worst of the year for you.

Worst: Pet Alien Series 1 and 2 | Airing Teen Titans at a slot where I can't watch it | Abusing KND to no extreme | Gtting rid of Dexter at 4:00

Justice League Unlimited- why lay down 3 bucks a pop for a comic? It's better than the crap on the stands!
Ghost in the Shell- EXCELLENT anime. Period.
Fullmetal Alchemist- see above. Great story.
Teen Titans- Unlimited next year, I've heard. Slade vs.... Jericho?
Star Wars Clone Wars- too bad Genndy took off to Lucasfilms, so no Samuri Jack either.
Harvey Birdman- I love seeing the Hanna Barberra characters getting the short end week after week. Flintstones as the Sopranos? Classic.
Robot Chicken- really funny in spurts. Too late at night now though. Gotta tape it.

Worst:
TF Energon- pathetic animation, boring continuation of Armada. This comes from a huge TF fan. Cybertron's heading down that path too. Thank God the movie comes out 7/04/07.
Billy and Mandy- geez..Grim, get a life. Seriously. Then it could end.
Ed,Edd, and Eddie- just bad.
Super Milk Chan- Eccch.
Paranoia Agent- Boring with a capital "B".
Totally Spies- like, totally uninteresting stories. "Valley girl" has been dead 20 years...Kim Possible could take them down. Heck, Ron could take them down.

Why the Hell can't CN leave their schedules alone either? Here's a hint- try premarketing before forcing us to change the VCR EACH WEEK, thanks.

The Worst: The new hosts of Cartoon Networks Fridays {I really dislike them there turning Cartoons Fridays into a joks.} Robot Jones {Dislike that show a lot, terrible animation, terrible characters and there was only one season of that show so there wasn't any character development for them either. No offence to whoever likes that show though.} Winx Club {The voices are annoying of the characters} Changing Alex’s voice from Totally Spies {It sounds terrible now like she’s a moron or something I liked her old voice better.} Canceling some good show. Turning the Power Puff Girls into anime {There selling the show, so it is there fault technically. I wouldn't mind seeing it in anime and all, but the characters look really scary now in anime version. Plus its better in our version.} Baby Looney Tunes. Changing the Dexter’s Laboratory animation and his voice either way it was horrible, you should have left it the way it was CN. Why did you have to change Dexter’s Laboratory completely why?} Changing Eddy’s character from Ed, Edd n Eddy { The other characters are great but you changed Eddy a lot you changed him into a hatful character. Now the fans can't stand him before we loved him because he cared for his friends and still had planes now he’s greedy and doesn't really care for his friends at all. I feel that was bad.} Showing the Scooby-Doo movies over and over again {Ok once is ok but now you've showed way too many times. Time to show some new movies besides the ones you've already shown, please CN show something different god its so annoying. When I turn on the channel it’s always the same thing.} Ok that’s all.....

Worst: Baby Looney Tunes, being forced to watch every dull Scooby-Doo movie in existence, Lumpus and Slinkman's Cabin Fever (I hate watching the same show so many times over again, especially when it sucks like the aforementioned Baby Looney Tunes), Hi Hi Puffy Ami Yumi, Krypto the Superdog (Although it's beginning to grow on me a tiny bit), Code Name: Kids Next Door, Pet Alient, Rave Master


Wish List: Destroy the cartoons mentioned in the "worst" category along with Ed, Edd, & Eddy., replace Winx Club with W.i.t.c.h. (Like THAT'S ever gonna happen), and create some clever new shows, hopefully more action-oriented. And for God's sake, forget about this "Tickle U" business!

They were popular real Japanise Rock stars, so they got a show.

The theme song isn't just one. They had made a lot of songs. And they made a song for the theme song.

But the appearance in the TV show isn't the same as in real life. Ami's hair is always down, and not pink. It's actully wavy, and a brownish color. And Yumi's hair is short, but not purple.

But I guess not all of us like Puffy Ami Yumi. :anime:
