I don't feel the Christmas spirit in the air this year....
I was doing my Christmas shopping and I noticed that the stores aren't as crowded as last year was.
The stores are also slashing sale prices like crazy and I heard the economy isn't doing so good.
Don't feel like a very merry Christmas so far, but that's how things are looking here in New york.

It was very crowded out at the malls today, but then, I'm not in New York...
The last few years, I haven't really gotten into the Christmas spirit until...ummm....Christmas! I think finals might do that to ya, though. It's too hard to be jolly and whatnot when your brain is gonna explode.

I don't know I just don't feel it as much this year either, maybe it's just the whole feel of my country after 9/11.

where's the christmas spirit ?
it went AWOL. The only thing I'm looking forward to is the week off from school that accompanies Christmas.
I'm in a suburb of NY, and all five malls around here seem crowded to me, or maybe 'cause I went to a mall in Bergen County, NJ, on a Saturday. (That's never a good idea.)

Well....blame Osama. I'd consider it a present to have him taken down by X-Mas.
Frankly, this year I think ought to be a quiet one. We must be happy we can be with family this year, with terrorist attacks. Still, we should go out and do something good as well. Carolling, giving to charity, etc. This is the Christmas we need this year.

im not a big fan of "christmas spirit". by christmas spirit i mean over crowded malls with people fighting for gifts and all the tacky lights and what not.

Agreed that this will be a sober holiday. As Monday is the fourth anniversary of my father's death, it's been a pretty reflective time of year to begin with of late. But for those who lost parents and loved ones to the Emergency Number Bombings, it's likely more so. Shades of that were seen in today's X-Men episode...we're all looking for an angel of some sort, and those of us who have families should draw closer to them, esp. ahora. Saddest thing for me was the bit near the end with Logan, alone (despite Charles' invitation) in a sleazy pool hall, probably drinking Christmas dinner from a brown bottle. :(

My christmas spirit is around somewhere, it just won't pop up until Christmas itself, and then it will go into full frenzy, even though, by then, it will be all over. That always seems to happen to me :p It went down a lot since I entered college. It's too hard to feel jolly when you've got a pile of papers to write and finals to study for.
But it will turn up. Maybe I should start watching some Christmas specials.

Yep, finals kinda dampened my Christmas spirit too...that, and the fact that it's so crowded around here now (I live very close to a shopping mall) that it's practically impossible to drive much of anywhere without getting a major headache.
But I imagine once Mom buys a carton of egg nog, it'll begin to look a lot more like Christmas... :p

Do you know if that whole Angel storyline for the X-Men was written before or after the 9-11 tragedies?

Strange that my Chanukah spirit's down too. I used to love latkes, and now they taste bland.

WHO PUT THE PENCIL SHAVINGS IN THE LATKES?!

Never mind my question. I forgot about the huge lead times with cartoon production.
As for Xmas spirit, I think I'm starting to get into the mood. I've caught myself humming xmas tunes randomly. However, with the monstrosities of finals hanging over my head, I havent been able to "feel it" yet.

Thriving well and healthy here in the capital of Canuck land.
Although the only person I can safely speak for is myself- went Christmas shopping on Saturday. There are two things that are sure to put me into the spirit- buying presents for other people, or getting them. Not to mention Christmas break is almost here... oh happy day!

Interestingly enough, I'm pretty sure I saw the twin towers really quickly in one scene during that episode. If anyone taped it, check the background skyline at the beginning of the scene on the bridge...I'm pretty sure they're there!
Anyway, I think I'll be vey spirited as soon as I get out of school for break tommorrow! ;) Actually, things have been a little blah and unexciting for me this year, probably with everything that has happened this year, plus the fact that I've been sing Christmas songs since late September for the singing group I'm in....
