I planned on buying Season one, but the lack of extras and syndicated episodes changed my mind. It's not worth the price tag. Considering this: my expectations for 'A Different World' aren't too high. I appreciate you posting this review.

nice...i read the review. seems like a cool box-set. but, considering ive seen maybe 5 episodes at the most, i have no idea if I will like the show once I buy the dvd.

nice...i read the review. seems like a cool box-set. but, considering ive seen maybe 5 episodes at the most, i have no idea if I will like the show once I buy the dvd. Since I don't know which 5 episodes you've seen, I don't know if you've seen episodes from the better seasons or not. The show started out very high quality, and there was a gradual decline over the 8 seasons. The first 2 seasons are considered to be classics. But the use of syndicated prints for the DVDs makes this a non-recommendation from me.
