With a thread for DC news it felt right to have one for the Marvel news that comes out of the Con as well. All the links below show previews for upcoming comics and events so beware of spoilers. Here we go:

The opening of the Marvel Comics panel on their Ultimate line of books resembled an old style revival meeting or a rock concert with Marvel Comics Editor In Chief Joe Quesada calling out to the crowd and asking them how they were doing, repeated times. Quesada then introduced the other members of the panel, John Dokes, head of Marvel Marketing, “Ultimate X-Men” writer Brian K Vaughn, “Ultimate Iron-Man” writer Orson Scott Card and “Ultimate Extinction” artist Brandon Peterson.

House of M has it's own panel discussion. Art shown at the panel and displayed below include upcoming House of M variant covers, a new X-Men and Power Pack project by writer Marc Sumerak artist Gurihiru, the cover to Paul Jenkins and Paolo Rivera’s Mythos: X-Men installment of their upcoming 8-issue limited series, and the New X-Men Academy X Yearbook Special.

So the ultimate characters won't age. I just wonder how long they can keep things fresh without having to evolve over time.. I must admit I have lost some interest in the line of late.

Moon Knight is getting his own mini, nice to see them doing something with that character again. I bet his appearance in MTU and USM (ultimate version) probably helped gather interest for him.

Also from today's Cup o' Joe panel, the nice surprise of - in Marvel Team-Up #14 by Robert Kirkman will team-up Spider-Man, and another character written by Kirkman… Invincible. :D

One of the comments made by Joe Q (here (http://www.comicon.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=36&t=003991)) confused me. Asked if the Ultimate universe and the 616 would ever meet, he said "No".

So he's either revealed that the Crossover arc in FF is a lie, or he's well... a real idiot.

So, Silver Sable and Beetle are getting thier introductions in a video game? Sounds a little weird, but hell, I'm intrigued. But then, I love my Spidey video games.

Does Marvel ever come across well at these panels?
