Hello,

Quick question.

I just got back from seeing the Fantastic Four movie. Now I know a lot more about the comic book versions of the X-Men than I do the comic book version of the Fantastic Four. So here's my question: If Dr. Doom is made of metal, does that mean it would be no contest if he were to ever challenge Magneto?

I suspect at some point in the Marvel Universe Doom has met Magneto.

Can Dr. Doom fight Magneto? Or are Doom's powers different in the comics?

thanks

Greg

Dr. Doom, in the comics, has primarily been a man in a metal suit.

Currently, in the House Of M, he is able to transform into a liquid metal-ish Terminator type thing.

Ultimate Doom is actually metal.

Much like Wolverine, Doom could come up with some way to take care of Magneto.

... and thanks for that spoiler regarding the F4 movie.

They really messed Doom up in the movie. Doom wears a suit of armor, and is a brilliant scientific mind. Equal to Reed Richards.

In a way, Doom is like Batman. A normal man, but one of the best of normal men, as he can go toe-to-toe and even exceed meta humans.

As for Magneto and Doom. It's happening right now in the House of M series and the Fantastic Four: House of M tie-in. I suggest you pick them up.

So here's my question: If Dr. Doom is made of metal, does that mean it would be no contest if he were to ever challenge Magneto? Dr. Doom is basically a man in a metal suit. Of course, because he is such a gifted robotics designer, he often has robot duplicates do his work for him (like in Uncanny X-Men#145-147). These Doombots, so perfect that even Telepaths can't tell the difference, act like the real Doom until they come into contact with Doom himself or another Doombot.

Nonetheless, Doom has made his armor magnetic proof, so Magneto cannot fight him through metal manipulation.

I suspect at some point in the Marvel Universe Doom has met Magneto. Correct, though never in a true battle.

Can Dr. Doom fight Magneto? Or are Doom's powers different in the comics? Dr. Doom can fight Magneto, and can probably win.
Does the movie show Doom's magical abilities? He is also a skilled sorcerer (got it from his Gypsy mother).

If you saw any of the trailers for the Fantastic Four movie, you could tell they were going to give Dr. Doom powers, (you could make out what the powers were as well, pretty much). I'm just saying he really didn't spoil too much...

Well in the movie...
Doom is turned into metal and has the power to use the magnetic force field around him to cunduct electricity...or something like that. But no sign of magic (which in my opinion is good for it feels more realistic.) And there is no saying of Doom's parents at all...no magic for the movie version of Doom.

And If Doom was fighting Magneto and it were their movie version fighting then Doom wouldnt really stand a chance but there is a question I always wondered about magneto...

Can Magneto control electricity like Movie version Doom?

No, because Stan Lee didn't account for the fact that Magnetism is part of a greater force that includes electricity.
