In "Betrayal", Bruce tells Terry, "I know what it's like to go against a friend."
Who is he talking about? Digging back into my memories of BTAS, the closest thing I can think of is that bat mutant, or Talia.

Perhaps Two-Face?

Dig into what WASN'T made.
Could be Superman. Apparently between TNBA and BB, he went rogue and Batman had to use K.

I was also thinking Two-Face when he made that comment...but Supes is nice suggestion.

Yeah, I immediately thought of Two-Face when that comment was made.

UGHHH, the thing that your talking about, where Bats says Supes went rogue happened in Legacy, remember. From earth's point of veiw, Supes had gone nuts. Granted, Bats should know better by now, but I mean, Superman wasn't just searching out folks to give them an answer. I doubt Bats, even knows that Clark wasn't in control anymore.

Hmm. You'd think Two-Face but it was Harvey that went agaisnt him as crime is enemy. Maybe it's a DTV idea that was planned at the time but never surfaced. The Joker/Bane one maybe? Or maybe it was a faulty reference from the writer?

Definatly Two-Face. Re-watch the two part Two-Face eps and Second Chance. It should instantly kick in then.
Clayface

I'm not sure what you meant by your first sentence there JBugle. But it was intended to be a reference to Two-Face/Harvey Dent. Bruce and Harvey were good friends until Harvey was attacked and turned into Two-Face. Then Batman had to battle Two-Face/Harvey Dent - his former friend and ally.

Yeah, Harvey was the only one that I could really think of. See the Poison Ivy ep. "Pretty Poison" to see Bruce & Harvey as pals, and Two Face parts 1 & 2. Batman's reaction to Harvey's accident alone tells a lot about how close the two were.
And of course, there is the possibilty that Bruce was also thinking of another example that is still in our future... ;)

Yeah, I was in a hurry when typing that, Clayface. I meant...
You'd think Two-Face but it was Harvey that went agaisnt him as crime is Batman's main enemy.
But in retrospect, you and DG are right. Silly newbie!

Two-Face and Supes are the Most Obvious.
But who knows, we dont know what happend in the Middle. For all we know, it could be Dick, or Alfred. Dick was Probably Disgusted that he and Barbara were dating. *Yuck*.
Do they ever show what happened to Dick in BB?
If Not i think that's is something they may do in the Next BB DVD movie.

Bruce had nightmares about Harvey's transformation into Two-Face in the second part of the character's origin episode, so that certainly stands out. Not to mention the two were casually hanging out in Poison Ivy's first episode...

I'd say it's pretty obviously a reference to Two-Face/Harvey Dent.
On another note, do you guys really think Batman considers Superman a friend? I tend to see it more like Frank Miller's Dark Knight Returns and DK2 visions, where Batman thinks of Superman as an overpowered moron. Even though they work together and get along, I don't get the sense that Batman wants to be friends in any of the animated series.

I think after the Ra's thing, Superman and Batman are pretty decent friends...I mean, Batman doesn't really HAVE friends, but he trusts Superman as much as anyone...
