For suspense and chills, Signs.

For sheer summer blockbuster fun, Independance Day. Forget the critics.

For comedy, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Hey, the planet blew up, that means Earth was invaded.

Invasion of the Bodysnatchers.

The original and new War of the Worlds are also both fantastic examples of filmmaking.

V was my personal favorite.I love it too, but the Final Battle basically sours me on the whole franchise.

One of the best SCi-Fi movies ever made.

Mars Attacks...Very good invasion movie. You wouldn't believe the alien's weakness!:eek:

Another invasion movie just for the holiday season is Santa Claus vs. The Martians.

Best? Probably the original "War of the Worlds."


My favorite? Justice League's "Starcrossed." (followed closely by Justice League's "Secret Origins.")

The best thing about Mars Attacks was Natalie Portman, and she didn't even get much screentime.

I liked "Alien Nation"...and it hasn't been mentioned yet. Of course, it's only an invasion to certain characters.

I love it too, but the Final Battle basically sours me on the whole franchise.
Something Awful did a report not to long ago about who was the most sucessful alien invasions and rated V as #1 over the original War of the Worlds movie.

-TimBeat me to it. I just watched it on AMC. You know, why doesn't Hollywood try turning the idea around instead of repeating it in hundreds of movies? I'd like to see Earthlings land on some unsuspecting planet and kick some defenseless alien butt. See how THEY like it for a change. We could call it a pre-emptive strike. ;)
