You can read a bunch of issues for free at the Marvel Comics official site. I'd highly recommend checking them out. Even if you're not a regular comic reader, which I am not.

I bought the Ultimate Spider-Man book a while back, which contained the first seven issues. And I'm really happy where the've taken the story since then.

As for Ultimate X-Men; this is smart, smart writing. Go read them now, if you haven't yet. Good stuff.

Ultimate Spider-Man and Ultimate X-Men have been my guilty pleasure reads. Spider-Man cxontinues to be a well pacd and amazingly enjoyable read. The creative team on that title is perfect. [b]Ultimate X-men's only downfall is the hap-hazard shipping. QWuesada said these books would never be late...well I'll believe that when I see it. Both books are just awesome. Marvel's best.

Spidey's been on time. X-men got late, but with #13 shipping next week it'll be on time again. I think Team-Up's back on track, or at least really close to it.

I love Spidey and Team-Up. I'm enjoying X-Men, but I liked the first arc soooo much better. I'm also looking forward to the horribly named series The Ultimates.

Ultimate Spider-Man is pretty slick--most of their updated villains are better than the originals. But the main reason that the book is any good is that Mark Bagley is drawing it.

I don't read USM...but I picked up the first arc, and a few issues since, and I have to say, Bendis does a GREAT job on dialogue...It made me check out POWERS too...

I don't read UXM (although the first six issues were very cool), but USM is one of my fave books out there. Bendis is awesome.

I jumped on board the Ultimate Bandwagon kinda late (USM #4 was the first issue I bought) but I've been thrilled with both USM and UXM ever since. Especially UXM. Me. Reading an X-book. Why? I don't have to deal with 30-odd years of continuity to enjoy it! THIS is the main reason comics have struggled so much the past few years. (drags out soapbox. steps up. reconsiders. steps down. kicks soapbox.) Feh. If you wanna hear my gripes about continuity, check the AniGen archives.
To tell the truth... I can't wait to see what Prof X is up to. #12 had him rocking Jean's world by fessing a bit about his involvement with Magneto.
That's the real reason I love these books. MJ knows about Peter (#13) and Prof X is actually interesting!
Go Big Q!

Forgot to mention...
All of these books can be checked out for free. Go to Marvel.com and look for something called "Dot Comics." It's a Shockwave based program that sits on your PC and lets you read everything from UXM to Banner! to the first appearance of Elektra. AND the first four issues of Elektra!
