This is probably one of my least favorite episodes for several reasons (particularly very little surprise in the plot; you know that the naturalist/poacher is the villain on page two of the script). But what niggled me the most was the repeated mispronounciation of the word "zoologist", even by the scientists who should know how to pronounce their occupation. They and Terry said "ZOO-ologist". It's said ZOH-ologist", with the second o silent. Sure, a small thing, but it felt sloppy to me, and rather makes the writers/actors/voice director look like schmoes.

OK, see, it's set 50 years in the future, so maybe standard pronunciations have changed?
Yeah, I know. Lame excuse for a lame episode.

Look...90 percent of the world thinks it's pronounced ZOO-ologist. It's like caramel. Or is it caramel?

How can anyone not like this episode? It has a big, talking monkey! :D
Oh, wait, that's probably why... :o

Wow...I thought just opposite: that it was a mediocre episode at the worst. I thought the monkey had great promise of becoming another vigilante on the streets of Gotham.
At any rate the voice was cool...?

The ape did have a cool ass voice. Deep and just eveil sounding. The episode just came off as cliched. It was a "been there, done that" kinda story (aka - not very good).

Not really much to add here, other than I thought it was pretty lackluster as well. Still, it could be worse... it wasn't nearly as bad as "Monkey Fun!"

Please tell me that you're kidding...there was actually an episode named "Monkey Fun"?!?

That episode sucked. But I will admit the idea of a talking monkey is cool. It just doesn't work in Batman's world though.

A Superman episode, yep. A monkey called Titano that got shot into space somehow returns, but the radiation makes him... er... Titano. Yeah.

Monkeys dont seem to make good plot devices... Except for that one Lone Gunmen episode.

I really hated this episode. And for the longest time, I didn't get to see Batman Beyond cuz it got jerked around on the schedule where I live (well, the WB was to blame, too...freaking POkemon marathons!) and I forgot to tape the show when I was at work. Besides, I really had no interest in taping it with commercials. So when I finally got to sit down and watch it again, it was Speak No Evil. I really felt like I hadn't missed much at all. This was to Batman Beyond as what Critters was to the Batman animated series.

Yes! The great Malachi Throne. Also did "The Judge" in TNBA's "Judgement Day."
