Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories is the new PSP iteration of the popular franchise. Here's what we know (thanks to OPM):
It takes place 3 years before GTA3, and you play as Tony Capriani (the guy with the overbearing Mom who gave you missions in GTA 3). He will again be voiced by Michael Madsen.
It's 3D and free roaming. Infact, more of Liberty is accessible in this game.
Anything you could do in GTA 3, you can do here. The cars are the same, plus all the motorcycles from VC are here.
Missions, graphics and game length will be on par with Vice City.
Expect to see some familar faces (rumors on Gamefaqs say an aged Tommy Vercetti is the big bad of the game, but I don't believe much that they say).
I'm pretty excited about this game, Rockstar has had it 2 years in the making. I hope it'll make up for PSp's lack of a good game library thus far.
Release will coincide with the European PSP launch. Should you get a PSP for this? It's up to you, you probably should if you don't have an Ipod already (it's a hundred dollars cheaper, plus it plays video files, movies, and games.) If you do, it's a harder decision.
In other news, Circuit City will have the GTA3/VC Double Pack for $9.99 on July 3rd. Great news for those who don't own the games.
