Well, I might go down to Canada Place in downtown Vancouver.

But really, I don't think Canadians take Canada Day as seriously as, say, the Americans and Independence Day. That probably stems from the fact that Americans had to fight for their independence, whereas the British didn't want to govern us as we became too expensive. So they made us a nation, but they still controlled our foregin affairs. Even our consititution remained in Britian until 1982!

It seems like Quebec doesn't do much these days on July 1st, either. I'd rather celebrate my country's birthday than St. Jean Baptiste Day any day.

One day, I want to celebrate Canada Day in Ottawa. If the weather is decent this year, I hope to go to the Plains of Abraham and to the boardwalk (free cake). Last year, Zellers gave away a free piece of cake for St. Jean and Canada Day. :anime:

I'm working...so I intend to earn 1.5 times as much as I usually would! Besides that, maybe some good ol' Canadian beer. :D
