The list of recent theatrical releases making their way to DVD include Diary of a Mad Black Woman, Gunner Palace, The Keys to the House, The Pacifier, and The Woodlanders.
...and, of course, there's more TV-on-DVD stuff than anything else, including the first season of The Doris Day Show, the second season of A&E's too-brilliant Nero Wolfe, the third seasons of La Femme Nikita and Ren and Stimpy, the sixth season of Touch of Frost, the seventh season of Homicide: Life on the Street, Nick Frost's Danger! 50,000 Volts!, and the complete runs of Game Over and Revelations. The definitive edition of The Twilight Zone's third season is coming out, alongside the second and third seasons of its '80s incarnation. The Disney Channel original movies Cadet Kelly and The Even Stevens Movie are both hitting stores as well, along with the TV movie Stone Cold and a collection of Robert Urich's Spenser: For Hire movies..
Going direct to video are Wesley Snipes' 7 Seconds, Shallow Ground, and The Slaughterhouse Massacre.
This week's catalog titles include Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry, Eyewitness, a deluxe edition of Jimi Hendrix, Race with the Devil, and The Three Stooges Meet Hercules. The Browning Version and Crazed Fruit are both being added to The Criterion Collection, and although I'm not sure where to classify it, I feel obligated to point out the 3-disc 50th anniversary edition of The Sid Caesar Collection.
For a list of some of the best prices as well as the latest price drops for existing titles, check Mike Frezon's weekly thread on the Home Theater Forum (http://www.hometheaterforum.com/htforum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=236732) and SalesCircular.com (http://www.salescircular.com/). A relatively comprehensive list of this week's releases can be found at DVD Talk (http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/bargain.php) and ComingSoon.net (http://www.comingsoon.net/dvd/).
So -- what are you getting this week? Nothing new for me (I still have 13 DVDs to go from Deep Discount DVD!), although I really need to grab the second season of Nero Wolfe.
