Which version of "A Christmas Carol" done by cartoon stars is your favorite? I realize that modern cartoons have also done their versions of the tale (the Animaniacs, for example) but I have tried to limit it to the classic cartoon characters.

Mickey Mouse's "A Christmas Carol" is the best, although I like Bugs Bunny's version as well. Mickey's version is really touching because you really feel for Mickey's family when Tiny Tim is sick. it all turns out ok in the end though :bosko:

Oh, please! A latter-day Mickey Mouse version cannot hold a candle to the UPA-Mr. Magoo classic! I've seen this almost every year since I was a youngster and I never get tired of it!

I voted for the "Mr. Magoo" version. That has to be the best.
The Bugs Bunny and Mickey Mouse versions are close seconds.

Since I haven't seen the Mr. Maggo special, I'd have to say the Mickey Mouse version was the best. As posted above, one can really feel Mickey's mourning over the loss of his son....

But of course, all things come out right. :)

As a fellow Ray/Bozo/Garfield kid, I almost always agree 100% with you! But this time I gotta respectfully disagree. It's close, BUT - I like Mickey's version better.

Now, do you know if anybody's showing Hardrock, Coco and Joe or Suzie Snowflake
this year?:)

Magoo was the best -- good story work on the adaption, good songs and an excellent job by Abe Levitow of getting real drama out of a character that had up until that point always been played for laughs (though I think Abe and his crew went a little too far for us little kids the following year, when they killed `ol Quincy off a couple of times as part of "The Famous Adventures of Mr. Magoo" anthology series that was spun off the "Magoo's Christmas Carol" show. But to paraphrase Bugs -- "What do you expect in a TV adaption of a dramtic novel, a happy ending?").

"Mickey's Christmas Carol" is the best. Very entertaining with a terrific usage of the Disney characters.

I like MICKEY'S CHRISTMAS CAROL the best. :D This was the first appearance of Mickey Mouse in a cartoon for 30 years since THE SIMPLE THINGS.

YOu know, I hadn't thought about that...until now!

Where are I gonna see "Hardrock, Cocoa & Joe" now? I have them on video somewheres...

I like the Mister Magoo version. I haven't seen it in a very long time, but I thought it was very, very good. Mickey's didn't impress me one way or the other, and Bugs Bunny's was too rushed...more of a dry-run parody. I also really like the Muppets Christmas Carol that featured Michael Caine as Scrooge and muppets as various characters...possibly better than the Magoo version.

I like Mickey's Christmas Carol the best, but my all-time favorite adaption of the story is A Muppet Christmas Carol.

To (mis)quote Joshua of the Old Testament... "As for me and my house we shall love the Bugs Bunny Christmas Carol all the days of our lives" :bosko:

Limited to those choices, I pick the Magoo, but the best one ever was the one Richard Williams did in 1972 for ABC. It was released theatrically first and won an Oscar. Alastair Sim recreates his performance as Scrooge. Its great! But that's not a choice, you say? Oh, well, I always color outside the lines anyway. Happy holidays.
