I just came back from Best Buy, and they had DVDs marked down to like $6-8, and box sets for $11. Don't know if this is old or not, and I haven't checked their site to see if its on there as well.

Marked down again? Dang... they must be getting desperate. Poor Conan. At this rate FUNi may stop releasing the series. They should probably just release it in box sets now.

I WAS waiting for box sets, but then I saw this and said screw it. I mean, you can't get any cheaper than $6... I came out of this with like 5 DVDs for ~$42 [3 singles, 2 in the first starter kit].

They said at Anime NEXT that they would start releasing more episodes per DVD. I'd love that. It's not a big deal to have say, four of five eps per disc for a short series like Bebop... but these longs series like Conan & InuYasha for example, you really ought figure out a format where each dvd contains a higher number of episodes, or affordable box/brick sets.

I’ve checked Best Buy’s online store, and it has the DVD’s listed at 15-16 dollars, so that sale must be store or region specific, or the site hasn’t been updated for some reason.

I bet the bulk of high-episode count DVDs will contain episodes from the Adult Swim run. Maybe we’ll see the “lost” episodes out on DVD next year. (Hopefully, the “Book without pages” will be on the same DVD as “No Immunity…”).

I kind of doubt that FUNi will crank up its dub production enough to sustain the current release schedule with many more new episodes per DVD, unless we get a surprise from Cartoon Network about a TVPG primetime run, and, certainly not for much less cost per episode than we are already seeing, unless they’re going to stop at ep. 104 and do a fire sale to recoup losses.
