Guys, we're getting closer to seeing "Popeye the Sailor" on "The Popeye Show". "Popeye the Sailor" was the "pilot" cartoon for the Popeye series. Since it technically was a Betty Boop cartoon, it had an interesting opening.

The opening featured a Paramount mountain in the background during the credits. Therefore, it'll be very easy to tell whether this has an incorrectly attached Paramount logo or the original logo.

So do you think we'll see the original logo to this cartoon?

I would guess yes, with one of three possible options:

1. They find an original copy of the cartoon (easy to show, the tough part is finding it).

2. They borrow an original opening from one of the other Betty Boop cartoons and digitally edit it in (the dissolve from that print to the Popeye print may not match up perfectly in terms of image, but it could work reasonably well).

3. They use the AAP print, remove that graphic, take the image from the main title page, digitally replace the "Popeye The Sailor" title card inside the 'arch' with the Paramount logo and run that from the start of the cartoon, then digitally create the wipe to change from the Paramount title to the title card page, and go on from there (a lot more work, but it would look better in the long run than option No. 2).

3) is closer but 1) is also true. in the case of this particular cartoon the mountain in the opening logo does not match the mountain in the opening titles. i'm assuming that was technically impossible at that time.
