This is a fanfic of what I would like to see Kingdom Hearts 2 be. I started posting it in a thread at the video games board, but then I began to feel that it seems more in place here.
This fanfic will contain spoilers for Kingdom Hearts, Chain of Memories, and several Disney movies.
Castle Oblivion - Sora, Goofy, Donald Duck, and Jiminy Cricket wake up in Castle Oblivion, each in their own egg-like unit. As soon as the units open, they look around at each other and wonder where they are, but nobody knows. A blonde girl who introduces herself as Naminé appears and tells them that they are in Castle Oblivion, and they have been sleeping for about 8 months. They ask why, and she says that they had to get their memories back, which she had screwed up. She said that Sora had forgotten Kairi for a while, and at that, Sora decides to return to Destiny Islands to check on Kairi. Naminé begins to tell Sora something about an Organization, but the other four had already left the room.
Standing at the entrance to the castle is the red-haired Axel, who seems happy to see Sora awake. Sora asks if they were friends during his adventure in Castle Oblivion, and Axel simply laughs and attacks Sora. As they engage in battle, Sora wins. Axel says something about "warning the others" and disappears. But Sora doesn't have time to worry. He just wants to go see Kairi.
Destiny Islands - Sora and the others can see Kairi on the shore before they are even within a mile of the island. When they land, Kairi embraces Sora and give him a kiss on the cheek. She asks what has happened during the past 8 months, and Sora says that he actually can't remember (but doesn't say anything about forgetting her). Donald, Goofy, and Jim meet Tidus, Selphie, and Wakka, and the six of them decide to leave Sora and Kairi alone.
And so the two spend the night on the shore looking up at the stars. Sora promises that he will save Riku no matter what. Kairi asks if she can come along, and Sora says that especially after what supposedly happened in Castle Oblivion, she would be safer on Destiny Island. The next morning, Kairi, Tidus, Selphie and Wakka wave goodbye as Sora and the others sail out into another adventure...
