Question: on the June Bugs marathon, what happened with the credits of the B&W airing of "Porky Pig's Feat". Did they show the original zooming Warner shield, or did they cut-and-paste a frozen incorrect title and production number on that one again?
Comment: that airing of the original "Saturday Evening Puss" from the late-night Acme Hour a couple of months ago was NOT the original soundtrack. It was the re-voiced Mammy voice that's surfacing more and more these days. I compared it with an original of the same cartoon I received on the weekend and indeed the first one is the Mammy we've all come to know and love ;)

The B&W version of PORKY PIG'S FEAT had the frozen WB shield.
I had a feeling that wasn't Mammy's original voice when CN showed SATURDAY EVENING PUSS, but I don't care that much since I'm still happy that they at least showed the cartoon. That was a great Acme Hour.

At least they've "restored" the original animation of Mammy. The old video release had the newer animation of the thin white woman, which doesn't fit in with the damage Mammy inflicts.

Yeah, plus it's really off-sync.
Until I saw the original I always wondered what the heck happened to make this print look so weird compared with the flawless previous releases from MGM of that year. And you're right, the voice and crashing damage of the Mammy doesn't seem to match the skinny white babysitter's abilities.

I never liked the "white woman" version of "Saturday Evening Puss!!" Not because they got rid of Mammy but because the animation did not go with the soundtrack. The local indy here in Chicago (now FOX) used to show the real "Saturday Evening Puss" years ago in its entire form> God, I wish I had a VCR then!!
