Questtion, posting, and thread starting.

When I start a thread, and l0 or ll posts later, I post a responce, or another idea, relating to something said, is that considered double posting? or just responding,,,,I think I know the answer, but I would like to hear from the mods, and people with lots of experience..Often after posting a responce, the thread dies...and no more comments, even though I did not double post, (I suspect that means two in a row)....I almost never do that, unless I make a mistake with some fact, and admit to it. Any thoughts and ideas on this would be helpful..thanks...Stu
p.s. I know some threads will work, and some won't. That is the nature of our population, and the ideas presented...that is ok...it is just I feel that I am ending too many of my own threads...

Double posting is considered posting twice in a row just to pad the post counter. Waiting for someone to reply, even if it's just one person, is not double posting, because one external post can be enough to change a person's view or start a debate.

Killing a thread, especially your own happens alot. I think a sure way to do it is to make a point so completely that everyone agrees or simply can't add anything. I've watched many interesting threads just quit after I add information with alot of detail. I've been trying to be more vague :sad:
