Even though it's not a rule but can I suggest that members don't have the same avatar? I get confused on who's who because it looks like that it's the same person who's posting.
Just a suggestion.

Just a suggestion.you're going to have to define the word "same"
because there are many people with avatars that have the same character in it
There are also people with avatars that have the same character in a similar pose however they are both rendered in a different medium...
There are however to my knowlege no people with matching and 100% identical avatars on the board...

NozeNuggets and One Radical Dude have the exact same avatar (as I post this).

I agree 2. Who ever gets the Avy first gets to keep it and no one else can have it unless you dont want the avy anymore. It might make people mad to if someone "steals their avy"

Ohh.
Odd...so do Strawberry Jam and Landstander.
I didn't notice the aformentioned people having the same avatar...

^I wouldn't be surprised if that was a result of reading this post. Also is it really that hard to check someone's name. I do suppose if it's something somone put a lot of time into making it's disrespectful to steal but this isn't something easily regulated.

Just be glad we can upload our OWN avatars here. At Bannister's Emuverse, they have a pre-determined set of video game-themed avatars for you to choose from. You can't upload your own from your computer.
By the by, mine at that board is the bear character from the game "Crystal Castles". ;)
I don't even want to start thinking about how we would decide who had the "right" to a certain avatar and who didn't...

What if the posters are identical twins and they each use a picture of themselves?
It's too complicated...

Whoa, Twage changed his name. Er, Ben changed his screen name from Twage to Ben. Er, Twage, the screen name, changed from Twage to Ben, his real name. Oh no I've gone cross-eyed.

Indeed! That... thing that you said happened... it happened. Whee!
I just never considered the fact that "Ben" might be available.

I know... I wanted to keep it but I thought people knowing who the hell I am took precedence. Maybe I'll bring it back after a transition period.

I know the first time I saw someone using an old avatar of mine unnerved me a bit, but I change mine so often who even remembers. It was a little redundant on another board when all the admins had the same avatar and I think most people try to choose a unique one at the time,,, but really, I have enough trouble keeping track of name changes. One girl changed her name so often I thought three of her had left, and the first two I thought were boys

I think it's well enough to leave the avatar problem to our good friend peer pressure. You know, if it's used to get people to be more original, peer pressure isn't such a bad thing, although that's almost the opposite of it's usual meaning.

I just never considered the fact that "Ben" might be available. You did change your name I see.
Does that mean we can use your old screen name as a slang term now?
Because that would be so twage!
I just hope some jokers don't lose their twage and ruin it for everyone.
If you've got a problem with that, don't get all twageddy with me. I was just asking.

My next job: NozeNuggets and One Radical Dude. MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
EDIT - Done.
EDIT - If you blinked, you missed it.

I put back my user title because I missed it and decided to move the note to my sig. I note that here because everyone needs to know. NEEDS mind you.
Re: revealing identity, I figure there are enough Bens in the world that I don't really have to worry. ;) But for all I know your name could be Erasmus or something.
