When I was a little boy, I used to read about a dog named Clifford, a big red dog, that had the strength to move certain objects, or to act super in his own way. Now Krypto on the other hand is still new to me. He has about the same strength as Clifford does, (mostly by flying around).

So just for fun, (and to try to start a nice forum), I would like to know, (from your own opinion). Who do you think is stronger? Clifford or Krypto? Mind you, I am reffering just to general strength, no heat-vision, or flying, just dog power.

I know this may sound like a stupid question for a forum, but it will make you think a little bit.

...as long as he had time to prepare. :p

I think Krypto is a bit stronger in terms of physical power. But if Krypto was near kryptonite, then Clifford would be stronger at that point.

Probably Krypto. We've seen him lift really large objects that I'm guessing weigh more than Clifford so he might have an edge.

But I was just thinking, could red kryptonite turn Krypto red and make him grow really large? :D

Drat...someone did the "enough time to prepare" joke already. Well, guess on to the backup material... :-)

Re: red kryptonite: it was capable of doing just about any physical changein kryptonians---such a growth/body color change would've been a typical effect back in the day. Thus, that'd be fair game... :-)

Depending on how strong Clifford is (only seen him haul things like giant shoes on signs---don't recall the big guy lifting a whole building or anything), I'm thinking something along the lines of Superman fighting Titano, though since Krypto has Kryptonian super-strength on his side and that Clifford's not a bad guy, guess this isn't much of a fight...unless...

"NEXT TIME, ON KRYPTO:

When Mechanikat uses his latest creation, a mind-control ray, on Clifford the Big Red Dog [in a surprise guest-appearance "PBS KIDS" crossover] to make him *really* mean, nasty, and---worst of all---a book-burner!---how will Krypto fight this famous reading-promoting super-strong character in:

'BETTER DEAD THAN READ!'"

:-)

I feel sorry to hear people say such things about Clifford's Books, I realize the question was based on two complety different dogs that come from two completly different viewing channels, but if you recall, I stated "This is just for fun." Please people, try to consider what I said here BEFORE REPLYING, I would deeply appreacite that.

But there is one thing I know about, since I sometimes watch Clifford with my niece, (who is only about 6, and she loves Clifford) is that on one episode Clifford picked up a humoungus anchor, and brought it to Emily's school for a "Show & Tell" suggestion. Or sometimes he will take huge a huge tractor tire with him to the beach (for his dogs pals).

But I got to give Clifford credit for one thing, he may not have super-powers like Krypto does, but he is one hell of a digger.

thank you,
mac1

Erm, I was just kidding... I like Clifford (and his books as a kid), too.

"Better Dead Than Read" = a bad pun on the old anti-Communism expression, "Better Dead Than Red" ("Red" = a disparaging nickname for Communists, probably from the old Soviet Union's flag color...).

Krypto, Krypto, he's the mutt that will put Clifford to shame for his untrust.

I feel like the odd person out, because I feel Clifford is stronger.

I have seen a couple of times where Krypto couldn't "get the job done", for example: Trying to get the aliens UFO back from Kevin's over-sized sister, or stopping a spinning carousel, even getting nailed by a stone globe.

Again, it's like mixing apples with oranges, but it's interesting to hear what people think.

Thanks for understanding,
