Feel the Magic as Cartoon Network and Miguzi welcome ‘Winx Club!'
Airs: 5 pm
Welcome to the talkback for Week Three of the premiere of ‘Winx Club’ on Cartoon Network in the U.S.! The show’s a big success on its regular network - 4KidsTV - but not everyone gets to see it because of how many Fox affiliates have dropped the block in recent months. For those of you in that boat, or weren’t willing to give the show a try because it airs too early on Saturdays… this is dedicated to you!
Episodes for Week Three (5/31-6/3/05):
Tuesday (5/31) “Magical Reality Check”: It’s time for midterms at Alfea, and the girls’ first one requires them to show off what they’ve learned by helping revive a virtual simulation of a dead planet. Bloom is the first to take the test. But her test to pass the class turns into a test just to survive when the witches get into the chamber to try and snatch the Dragonfire from her!
Wednesday (6/1) “Junior League”: Flora’s experiments to create a witch repellant begin to annoy her roommates, and they kick her out until she finishes. Bloom makes them feel guilty for doing so, so they all go out to help her. They learn Flora only needs one ingredient to complete her potion… a very rare flower in the keep of some water nymphs who go by the name of the Junior League.
Thursday (6/2) “Miss Magix”: The midterm exam in the Magical Reality Chamber is about to resume, but Stella’s surprisingly not concerned about it… which worries Bloom. It turns out Stella is instead preparing to compete in the annual ‘Miss Magix’ pageant. The witches are there too, trying to help a freshman witch named Lucy sneak in to compete as well… but who says they can’t have a little fun while they’re at it?
Friday (6/3) “Meant to Be”: Bloom needs a little break from the pressures of Alfea and all the catching up she’s had to do. So, she returns home to Gardenia, where she hopes to show her parents how much she’s grown. The little vacation is ruined, though, when two strange individuals press Bloom’s mom to pay them ‘insurance,’ and if she doesn’t… well, you can guess…
Notes:
- Spoilers: Because some people may have not seen these episodes for whatever reason, information regarding events that happen later on in Season One should be placed in spoiler boxes. Naturally, any info on Season Two, which has not yet aired in the U.S., MUST be put in spoiler boxes as well.
- Please keep all discussions civil. No bashing allowed! If you don’t like the show, please state why. This rule also extends to any comparisons to similarly-themed shows, especially Jetix’s “WITCH.”
- I won’t be making comments after every episode since I’ve already seen them all, but I may chip in a few notes here and there, and I’ll reply to any questions there may be.
