I've just seen the second part of The Enemy Beneath.

WOW!!

No jokes about THIS Aquaman!! He's officially badass.

He's also utterly dedicated. If you've seen the episode, you know what I mean.

Ok, any comments?? I thought the story was good, the characterization was good ( both Aquaman and GL ended with some regrets about previous behavior ), the action sequences were incredible ( best yet ). The only downside was the voice acting, which I thought was a little inadequate, but that was as much the greatness of the episode as anything else.

Aquaman is DEFINITELY worthy of some more appearances. With that trident of his, he could even hold his own against any other Leaguer, though joining would still be counter to his character.

Couldn't agree more metaphysician
.
Favorite scenes? wellto many to mention so I'll start with one i havn't sean mentioned yet;
Aquaman cruieses into battle alone on a jetski, I'm thinking you know he really belongs on a whale. Cut back to....somethings moving under that ice?...and it's something really big!

I haven't seen Superfriends since I was a little kid in the early eighties, so I barely remember it. Did Aquaman dance a lot or something? From the things I've heard it sounds like he was a little flamboyant. What's the deal?

No, he did allot of dumb things but never danced. And he was buoyant, but never flamboyant, at least not that I can remember, what people are referring to is a bunch of recurring shorts appearing on cartoon network, I've only seen one where Aquaman strolls into what appears to be the frozen fish isle in a supermarket and does a little butt beguiling jig with his back to the camera.
So to the contrarry, I chalk it up to some bitter x fan boy animator working on CN who always identified with Batman or Superman, and like many later discovered that women always dug Aquaman the most over the others. And this his cruel but hilarious revenge on the sea faring swain.

Which is probably why he & Wonder Woman needed the Powerpuff Girls to save them.

Powerpuff Girls kick butt though

It will take more than this two-parter to redeem the Superfriends Aquaman.

He got captured ALL THE TIME!!!

And...as it says at SeanBaby.com...he got ATTACKED by sea creatures! He forgot he had powers!

Well, go ahead.

You walk up to Orin, and you tell him that to his face.

Go back and watch the Superfriends, not those comical things made for cartoon network where he (and wonder woman) have to be saved by the power puff girls.

Go back and watch them. He did his part. And he did it well. He didn't screw up any more than Superman or the others.

I think most people who don't like the Superfriends were introduced to superheroes by the Batman Movies or XMEN cartoon or Batman cartoon.

I, like the Power Puff Girls, am "a big fan of old school".

The fact that my 7 year old son and I can sit together and really enjoy both the Legion of Doom era and todays Justice League means they are both good. :)

Within the context of Superfriends, yes, Aquaman wasn't excessively lame. However, that's partially because they were ALL fairly lame, and completely devoid of personality.

And you've got to admit it, when taken out of context the ability to talk to fish is pretty comical...

That pretty much sums it up.
