View Full Version : Why are "Disney forums" and "DC forums" flipped?

Now, I'm used to nice, Alphabetical forum arrangement. Meaning DC first, then Disney. But tonight, Disney was first. Pray tell, why? Do you want me to get confused? I mean, I almost clicked into that toilet bowel that is Disney forums by mistake. Do you really want to inflict that upon the masses?
Calling any forum here a "toilet bowel" is very disrespectful to the site owner, to the moderators, and to the posters of that forum -- not to mention disrespectful to the Toon Zone community as a whole. Please refrain from such rudeness in the future.
To answer your question, I'm not exactly sure why they were changed around -- it may be just an error. If that's the case, it will be corrected ASAP.

In Style's defense the Disney Board IS very unfriendly with a ton of thread hijackings and flames to people who don't post there often. The mods do the best they can but it is still the least friendly forum on Toon Zone.
Maybe toilet bowl is too harsh but I would like to point out that he probably does have a good reason for hating that board.

Oh, wait, the forum and the posters were becoming lackluster. I'm sorry, but I'm not going to spend my time skimming through long, meaningless paragraphs. And, Disney was never really something to talk about.

I rarely go there anyway. Only if there are topics concerning Fillmore and/or Ghibli dubs. But calling it that is a little harsh wouldn't you say man?
I could say the same about DC, being that I don't like it.

That's why I mentioned it down here, which is only semi-public. However, "toilet bowel" was way toned down from how I was originally going to describe it...

I'm taking a break from the board. It's kind of stressful for me and I know I haven't exactly been doing my part to keep things civil. The situation angers me and though people are right that it's getting better I find myself with more to talk about on the other boards.

I agree with both Fone Bone and Style 92 on this...
...which explains my two week absense from these boards in general.
As for the Disney Boards, I haven't been there in a while, but it appears that my Joe Grant topic died VERY quickly. Pretty shameful, considering Disney fans were more than willing to discuss the legend at OTHER Disney domains.
Zedd's first reply is the very reason that drove me away from these forums. It seems like the mods, and overly-obedient members, care more about their stupid rules than other members' feelings towards them. How else do you explain such narcissistic remarks like:
"You agreed to the rules when you signed up here, so you MUST follow them accordingly."
I also find it extremely annoying that the mods turn their backs on anyone who dares to criticize the rules or the boards in anyway. I can understand the need to make sure friendly discussions are maintained here, but COME ON!!!
Just to be clear, it was NEVER my intention to be a burden about this. But believe me, I've been to other forums, most of which are NOT family-oriented, but still manage to conduct better communities than here at ToonZone.
So my question is: do we congregate at ToonZone to follow the rules, or talk about cartoons (and any related topics)?

I find myself with more to talk about on the other boards.True, true. But, without cable, there's really no point for me to go to the Adult Swim, Nick, or Toonami (even Cartoon Network) forums, but I go to those forums more than I do the Disney forum.
In order, though, I post at:
Cartoon Network Forums
The Toon Zone
Cafe Toon Zone
Toonami
Anime Forum
DVD Discussion
DCAU
Feedback and Suggestions

That's just assuming, though. It's not necessarily 100%, or even 70% accurate.

I just assumed that they were flipped because that way the two "comic" forums could be sandwiched together. By that I mean DC and Marvel, bitter enemies to the end! :D

That's correct. Well, not sure about the bitter enemies. Everyone is welcome at The Marvel board (cheap plug! )
"You agreed to the rules when you signed up here, so you MUST follow them accordingly."
Well, yeah. See, this is a privatly run site, which means that it's paid for by the owners, Brian Cruz, Eileen Delgadillo (known to you as Harley) and Colin (his surname escapes me! :o ). They can make the rules as they see fit so I'm not sure what's narcissistic about it, especially considering the rules aren't difficult to follow. Toon Zone is intended to be the best animation site on the web for everyone. Just because kids under 13 can't post here doesn't mean they won't look at the site, and we don't really want them to see such things as foul language and 'adult' topics here.
The rest of the rules were placed because well, it can get too much to handle. Political discussions began to take over what was supposed to be a board where people could chill and get to know each other, not argue over points without any real resolution taking place. When we had to ban several otherwise polite members for thier continual nasty behaviour, it was simply better for everyone we stop talking about them.
I don't visit the Disney forum (which isn't anything to do with how unfriendly it is, I simply have no interest in any Disney cartoons or movies). However, much like the political discussions taking over a chilled board and making it a flame-bait forum, The Disney forum should be a place where posters can talk about Disney cartoons, and not have to worry about feeling unwelcome because people keep coming in with off-topic remarks and "hijacking" threads. It's a forum for Disney cartoons... why shouldn't they be allowed to talk about them? Why should the same few people come in and disrupt the topic? Given how unfriendly the place still is and people's reluctance to post there, something had to be done.
You've been told this before and it never seems to get through, so this is probably a waste of time but man, get over it. You've made your point and not to sound like an ass, but it's not changed much. We've listened and taken into consideration your points and decided it's best to ignore the Eisner discussion. Please start listening to our points now.
Thank you,
Stu

It seems like the mods, and overly-obedient members, care more about their stupid rules than other members' feelings towards them. How else do you explain such narcissistic remarks like: I'll say this, for a guy who hasn't even been here for six months, you sure do open your mouth alot. Everytime I read something you posted, its always complaining. And about rules that you'll find in ever walk of life. I mean, to me you come off as some anarchist. Calling members overly-obedient for doing what their asked. Come on?!
And whats up with all the Disney Board crap talking? Hey I was an adovcate of how patheitc and creepy some of the people were at the Disney Forum, but that was a long time ago. I mean people are talking about the board being unfriendly. Hell, if anything we were the ones that were unfriendly, coming in to their little niche and calling them out for their obessions and jumping all over them. Even mods were joining in on the fun. Point is, were all just as bad, so why are you guys talking crap?
One last thing, Style92 should be the last person calling anything a toilet bowel.

Yeah, I've decided to lurk there more. When I will post I'm not going to bother complaining. We got our message across and it's time to let it go. I'm personally sorry for all of the trouble I've caused. It's a little depressing actually.
Good for you CBG for saying YOU were responsible in a small way too. I never would have had the guts for that before you called me on my behavior. You are truly a sense of reason.:)
But Style 92's REALLY cool!:)

One last thing, Style92 should be the last person calling anything a toilet bowel. Because... I... am one? A little confused. I mean, feel free to insult me, I honestly don't care, but at least try to be a little more clear on what you're trying to say. And are you still upset that I didn't like Episode III as much as some people did? I never said I didn't LIKE it, but, well, I can't totally conform to your opinion. Sorry.
But Style 92's REALLY cool!:)
And I love you too! :p :D
And are you still upset that I didn't like Episode III as much as some people did? I never said I didn't LIKE it, but, well, I can't totally conform to your opinion. Sorry. Please, what the does one thing have to do with another? When did I ever say or even imply I was upset at you because you didn't like a movie I liked. Man, you've been hanging around here to long or something. Because when I say something that may seem harsh, it should be taken lightly or as a joke.
Because... I... am one? A little confused. I mean, feel free to insult me, I honestly don't care, but at least try to be a little more clear on what you're trying to say. Because you are one? What! Dude if I wanted to insult you, I would not be so weak as to call you a toliet bowel. What I meant was, as a person who reached out to the people of ToonZone when he was feeling down, you should not be calling one of its forums a place where you ****. Its very unappreciative and also take a look at what you started. I ask you who didn't take a shot at the Disney Forum in this thread? You made two mods have to stand up for the board. I've never know so many people to continually talk crap about a board since I've been here. But I've said all I needed to say on that issue but that's what I meant when I said you should be the last person.
And its good to know that my "insults" confuse the hell out of people.:p Rather they be confused then pissed.

The Disney Forum is more like a minefield
it's fine if you know where to go....step in the wrong area however and it explodes...
However I also find it rather amusing that the most documented tramatizing childhood experiances are usualy scenes in Disney movies...IIRC these are the one
Bambi's mother getting shot and the burning forest
Snow White getting almost killed by the guard and running thru the scary hallucinating forest
The donkey transformation sequence in Pinnochio
Then again the Disney Forums instability could be attributed to the lack of new worthwhile animation from disney, therefore causing everyone to harkback on old animation and thus forming fraction groups with the main focus of elitism...
I mean if the foruim is just that bad, why not temp close it? There are other animation genres here that are more active and friendly on the boards, prehaps those users who stuck solely to the Disney Forums need to seek out new things to expand their perspective on everything as a whole?

Maybe you should try more of the "talking about cartoons" thing instead of spending so many of your posts complaining about the rules. Just a suggestion.
