I'm just curious if anyone else is a little "weirded out" by the pencil board pack ins. I mean, in a show without much fan service to speak of, I find it odd to have these pencil boards with one side that's full blown fan service. It just doesn't make much sense to me.

I mean, not that there's necessarily anything wrong with that, if that's your thing. But I mean, I'm a little disturbed by the ones of Chisa and Junior. I mean, I'm quick to defend a variety of stuff as being art, but that's just plain wrong. I was just curious if anyone else had any feelings on this.

Are you trying to trick me into going out and buying the DVDs?

The Maggie and Wendy boards restore the karmic balance quite nicely. :anime:

The pencil boards rock.
Except for the one with Junior...but I guess they need something for the girls who enjoy the show. xP

The pencil boards are great, aside from the loli-tastic ones. Like the Junior one :ack:

I don't mind the boards too much, since they're not really what I shelled out the 20 or so bucks for in the first place. I find that it's easier to leave that side of the board that you like the most facing up at you, or if you don't like either side, have the phamlet cover it so you don't have to see it every time you open the box (I leave those things in there since I don't know where to put them without the risk of losing them, something I tend to do rather easily).

If you think those are bad, you should see the Ikki-Tousen ones....

full frontal nudity...

Yeah but you kinda expect that from a fanservice filled anime like ikki.

Will the upcoming R.O.D. The TV boxset (in July) include these pencilboards?

full frontal nudity... Meh, most of them are just suggestive, with the girls wearing clothes. The only ones that really have nudity to speak of are Hakafu and Ryomou, and aside from some peeks of nipple with Hakafu's, both pics have the nudity strategically covered.

I really doubt it, because that would screw over the people who spent so much money on the individual DVDs.

Speaking of which, am I the only one that's actually gonna buy the collectible box? I actually already have the LE book box, but I also want the cool art box with figure. Any idea who the figure will be of? I'm definitely getting the box, if only to have a place to store the empty DVD cases. (I keep the discs in the cool book box.)

Oh, and yeah, the pencilboards rock. But I think the DVD covers are just as fanservice-y and awesome to look at. I hope there's an art book for R.O.D. I'm really diggin' Masashi Ishihama's character designs and art.

I plan on getting the SE Vol.7 w/ box

I'll stick all the empty volume cases 2-7 in there and I'll put the OAV case in there as well.

All the discs(including the OAV) will go in the book shaped case box.

Anita.
http://www.rightstuf.com/items/2005-03/28/large/pd12569b.jpgIs that figurine going to be really tall like the Scrapped Princess ones?

Because that Pacifica PVC surprised me on how big it was. I thought it would be like the Armitage PVC or somthing.

I mean it's bigger than most of my mecha.

Is that figurine going to be really tall like the Scrapped Princess ones? Should be like 1/16 scale or something: 23.9 centimeters(~ 9.4 inches) tall according to Hobby Link Japan's info (http://www.hlj.com/product/YUJ93291). *shrug*

No, it's not Scrapped Princess big, but it's decently sized. Probably about 5-6" tall. It's pretty nice looking too.

Apparently I was using the package dimensions, not the figure's. :o

So are we going to have to decide if we want the single volume with a pencil board or the box with the figure? Or are they skipping a pencil board with the single volume or including one with the box?

Last Volume with box still comes with the pencil board too.

Sweet! As this is one of my favorite series I'll definately be getting the box.
